I have a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The ac compressor runs steady but is not cooling.

    It's not a good idea to try and stuff too much freon into an AC system--you could damage it. If you feel the system is full or near full, then the problem lies elsewhere. Could be a pressure switch or expansion valve issue (valve that controls the flow of the super-cooled refrigerant into your evaporator) . Your AC system can also be scanned for trouble codes and something might turn up there. Maybe your condenser fan isn't working. Also if you didn't evacuate the system prior to charging you could have air and moisture in the system. Evacuating the system is a must.

    Hi there, I had the same problem with the A/C . It turned out to be a "crushed hose" according to the mechanic. They replaced it for me and it helped but I have to press the air recirculation button just below the the dial that goes from low to high (it's the one on the left in my car) to really get some air pressure. Also I noticed that it gets colder once I begin driving.
