Check VSC System - Brake, ABS, Traction Control lights are all ON. 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid.

On my 2007 Camry Hybrid, as I was backing up, the brakes went soft to the floor, and then all of a sudden engaged. It braked so hard, it felt like a hit something. A few days later, the Brake Light, Traction Control and ABS lights turned on, and Check VSC system displayed. I took it to Toyota and they said it was Code-1391, Abnormal Leak in Accumulator. The cost was going to be $2694.00. I declined the repair, because I don't have money to repair.

Update - Toyota is now repairing this problem. It's not a recall yet, but they extended the warranty on this part. I took my car in last week and it was repaired at no cost. See this article. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2014/07/why-toyota-should-recall-the-camry-hybrid/index.htm

Well good for you, and for filing with NHTSA. Seems to have produced results! I agree, this should be a recall.

Wishing I could report success like govols3 above. Unfortunately this problem developed, frighteningly so when going 65 mph, in my 2007 Camry hybrid, on an icy Denver freeway. The brakes went soft and I drifted to the emergency lane, then crawled home with compromised brakes. I feel lucky to have avoided a major accident. To add insult to injury, I was 7 months outside of the 'extended warranty' that ended Jun 2017. The Toyota service manager just shrugged it off and said, "my Toyota rep said there was nothing I could do." In addition, TOYDOCTOR, in Aurora, quoted a $5,000 repair cost. Needless to say, I'm DONE WITH TOYOTA. I trust Hyundai and Honda will value my business (?and my life) more than my previous loyalty to Toyota. Shame on Toyota for not doing the right thing, and making this a mandatory recall for the defunct brake actuator/sensors. Last I heard, brakes were important on cars!!

I have the same problem. I even took my vehicle to the dealer and explained to him the problem with the braking system. They had the vehicle for 5 hours, called and said they could not find any problems with the braking system. I have a 2009 Camry Hybrid with 151,000 miles. Looking for suggestions on what to do. Very frustrating.
