Last night, I ate a late dinner at the Italian restaurant. When driving home. I decided to change my ambient lighting in the car to bright amber on amber. Awesome! With my cogniac leather seating and the fact that even the dash lights and monitor lighting ads an amber subtlety, I felt like I was in heaven.
I tried the the greens and blues and even the reds and yellows, but they were awful compared to that orangy amber on amber. I feel like I'm an "artist" with my own paintbrush and palette - a kind of Van Gogh, but with nice ears!!!
Not to be a buzzkill but the Mustang had that option as far back as 2005.
Having said that I realize I'd trade mine for yours in a heartbeat.
But do you get a choice of 64 different shades....the E does?
Yeah, I believe you do. Mine doesn't have that option so i can't be positive but I remember reading about it and it was a lot.
Will someone please explain to me the need for all of these colors ?
My wannabe does not have them but if it did, I'd be looking for the OFF button.

POWER! CONTROL! SHOWOFFS! MATERIALISM! and if you want some more reasons, just let me know - I'm raring to go! Besides, anyone with an interior that color has to be colorblind! Driver, have your eyes checked.

Can't wait for the look on my kid's face when they come for dinner and see the new car! Going to thank them for the gift - remember, I'm spending the kid's money!!!
So, spoke yesterday with a lawyer "friend" (meaning I only got limited info given his advice was free) about Cadillac's seemingly confusion about my arbitration decision.
He looked at the decision and said it looked pretty iron clad to him.....all monies paid, including tax, fees, license, incidentals, reparation for time spent preparing for the arbitration, time spent back and forth to the dealer, etc come back to me. He said to give them a couple of weeks, and if no communication is made by them, he'd send them a reminder (adding $500 to the decision for his letter). If that doesn't work, he said he'd take the case, add his fees to the judgement, and ask for a 33% penalty in addition since they didn't comply with the arbitration decision.
He said it really isn't a hard case and is pretty cut and dry. He'd do it because he'd also add in another $5,000 for himself.
Not sure if Cadillac is incompetent, obstinate, or just really that dense.
GG, I don't know how much of a friend the lawyer is but I would try to do it without him. A lot of lawyers are desperate for business these days and want to get in on anything that could earn them a few $$$$s. I hope you have contacted the BBB so they are aware and your complaint has been filed. Cadillac division is probably very unorganized.....probably part of the strategy of moving to NYC, to confuse complaining customers. If they can send a refund slip to the person who dispenses replacement vehicles, they have a big communications problem.

My older brother has that down perfect. After a family meal he reaches into his front pocket.....where I am sure he has no money - and he says how much do I owe you. It is so painful to watch, I have to say, don't worry about it, I got it (but I always get it!).

That's an S-Class, which exists just because it can. In this new Belle Epoque, there is definitely a market for such cars. And of course, the pic is maybe over-exposed just a little to make the lights seem brighter.
My now prior-gen E also has ambient lighting with numerous colors. I also use the blue.
You know, I tried the S Class before going to the 7 series and found it harder to get in and out of. The ride and handling are sweet as was the interior. But that big V8 engine burns gas like I drink water.
The 7 series handles sportier and it provides a better "feel" of the road, especially in sport plus mode. I have the ride set for Comfort when I am driving around town and Comfort Plus when driving on the interstates at speeds over 65. There is no doubt the S550 of all the luxury vehicles in the $90,000-$110,000 range is the best all-around vehicle - but the 7 series is more comfortable for getting in and out.

Driver, I am sure I speak for almost everyone on this thread of the forums - we don't acquire the deadly sin emotion of "jealousy" when it comes to "coveting" our fellow posters' cars - we merely say to ourselves:
"...I'd kill to have an E400 like driver just got...!
was at a light next to a new S class coupe (550). Very unattractive car. Hump backed, just awkward. Though I am sure it cost a whole lotta money.
My brother had a 2016 S Class Coupe - $136,000+ was the MSRP on his car. He traded it for a 2016 740i - I wonder if that qualifies as a "whole lotta money"? I think so! He loves his 740i much better - go figure?
It's the classic mix - MB is luxury first, BMW is sport first. I'd expect the 7 to have some newer stuff in it too, as the current S has been in production for nearly 4 years now, and I think a facelift has to be in the works. It's also quite a barge, and really larger than something I would want where I live now.
Trading in a year old S coupe has to be a resale value tragedy, those were some expensive miles no doubt.

Can someone explain this dichotomy? Tesla has the second highest market valuation behind GM but operates in the red. What gives?
I don't see Tesla in the top 50 stocks for market capitalization (Stock Price times Shares Outstanding). Tesla's high stock price merely reflects fewer outstanding shares.
I never understood the appeal of painting a car in a light battleship gray and especially if it was matte. Would look like primer. Add black trim and wheels and you complete the picture. Probably not a pretty one. I thin it is trying too hard to look cool, like wearing a flat-brim cap turned at an angle. It's fine line between cool and dumb-looking.

I think Tesla is second to GM among US auto companies, if I remember the article I read recently. Not second overall, just car companies.
------------
@bwia Thanks Bean for clearing that up.-- The NY Times article was referring to auto manufacturers. Here is the attribution:
"A sell-off in auto stocks sent GM down 3.4 percent, Fiat Chrysler down 4.8 percent and Ford lower by 1.7 percent. And Ford is no longer the second most valuable U.S. auto company. That distinction belongs to Tesla Inc., which rose 7.3 percent and now has a market value of $48.63 billion, compared with Ford's $45.47 billion. GM is valued at $51.19 billion."

Most people would rather be called parsimonious than cheap....mainly because they don't know what it means. Ot they think it means something like "smart".
I knew the word because |I have a friend who loves unusual words. When I see him I always look up a long unusual word and slyly put it in a sentence, the last time I did this the word was parsimonious. I didn't catch him....he knew what it meant.
You found out, I am jealous a domestic Mustang has a color choice of 127 shades, and my Euro car only has 64....I was ripped off! :@
I think M-B can provide a feature that gives 256 colors as part of a $5500 Designo option package. You shouldn't have been so parsimonious.
Thanks ab.....let's see if oldfarmer can beat that!
If I had known I would have gone for the Designo option, nothing to do with parsimonious.
Besides, probably not available in Canada
Well, for the price of your luxo barge I can buy TWO Mustangs with 127 colors each. That's 254 in total. Pretty close.
OK oldfarmer, you win the greatest number of colors you can get with your interior LED lighting. The thing is, you can only use one color at a time, and once you select your favorite, you will probably never reset it again.
But, I concede, we will award you the prize for the "Most Colorful Interior LED Lighting Puerility Contest".

Thanks, just like I thought.

Cadillac division is probably very unorganized.....probably part of the strategy of moving to NYC, to confuse complaining customers. If they can send a refund slip to the person who dispenses replacement vehicles, they have a big communications problem.

My now prior-gen E also has ambient lighting with numerous colors. I also use the blue.
Yes...you called?

Aba - maybe you ought to drive that thing up to Colorado or somewhere and drive it with a few joints under your belt!
driver.....BBB is aware of Cadillac's incompet........er, "confusion"! They threw it back to me to tell them what the arbitration agreement says. They'll get involved again, if they don't pay me what I was awarded (which I'll assume also means if they don't pay, at all).
RB.....saw a light grey (non metallic) M240i on display at Costco today. Not fond of the color, but really liked the car. Had blacked out grill and wheels, too....with a carbon fiber spoiler.
The big shock was when I looked at the sticker. Granted, it was loaded up with M Perf, Car Play, Cold Weather, etc. But, it was $58K. I thought the 2 series was supposed to be priced UNDER the 3 and 4?

Driver, I am sure I speak for almost everyone on this thread of the forums - we don't acquire the deadly sin emotion of "jealousy" when it comes to "coveting" our fellow posters' cars - we merely say to ourselves:
"...I'd kill to have an E400 like driver just got...!
There you have it - not jealousy - MURDER!

Trading in a year old S coupe has to be a resale value tragedy, those were some expensive miles no doubt.

Tesla's high stock price merely reflects fewer outstanding shares.

And, came up with:
18 1 4 3 Chromate Green
19 1 4 4 Pastel Blue
20 1 4 5 Eye-Shadow Blue
They all probably have the same number of colors, some break it down a bit more. They all have to use combinations of primary colors.

1st reason is $7500 subsidy from past government may be dropped!

Tesla has a market cap bigger than Ford? Can anyone say dot com bubble?
My wife's relative was worth $100 million before...$5 million after. That kind of stock price on a company that doesn't make money is disturbing.

I think M-B can provide a feature that gives 256 colors as part of a $5500 Designo option package. You shouldn't have been so parsimonious.
