What could be wrong with my ac? 2000 Ford Expedition?

I was told it would be the ac panel. So I replaced it and it didn't work. To be on the safe side, I replaced it with another one. Still nothing. The compresor works but only when 1 of the 3 wires are connected on the control panel. I connect all the wires and it stops working. Also, the vents dont blow any air at all when the compressor is running

Have you put gauges on the system to test pressures? Have you had the car's HVAC scanned for trouble codes?
