I have a 2002 Ford Expedition and the heater will only blow hot on floor mode any other mode def/floor, panel/floor, it just blows cool air. My mechanic is stumped so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like one of those blend door kind of issues.

That's what we were thinking but usually the ac side blows hot if it was the actuator door

No clicking sound either eh? Sounds like there may be two doors, fwiw.

    Anyone?

has anyone done a "deep scan" for trouble codes in the HVAC?

No scan yet but will be getting one. No clicking sound either that I'm aware of

There are three blend doors in an Expedition - one in the front and two in the back. The clicking is associated with a broken blend door actuator in the rear units, the blend door itself is actually fine. The front blend door doesn't make any noise when it fails it just doesn't allow you to change temp and can flap back and forth by itself. The failure in the front one is the axle the door swings on. That said, this doesn't sound like a typical blend door issue because with a typical issue you don't have varied temperature by outlets, you have no control over temperature in any outlets. I'd guess there are multiple things going on here. Did everything work fine before this started?

Yes everything worked great, this was just a sudden thing.
