Does anyone know what is the last date of the AFS payments? I know that the Audi summer even ends July 6, 2009 but one of the dealers I talked to said that the AFS ends June 30 and the apr's end on July 6. Any info?
~K
I want to warn you that the dealer tried to give me the loan 1% higher (2.9%) than what AFS is offering. I noticed that (at that point all the number start to look the same) and pointed it out to him. He said that's what Audi is offering. When I said that I know about AFS offers right now and made some noise, he said that he will put in 1.9%. After that I got the deal done. Be alert guys!
Loving every minute in the new car! I felt that it was a good deal. Any comments?

As I repeatedly told my wife, getting the right car was more important than getting a huge discount. We keep our cars for 10-15 years, so saving a few thousand bucks isn't the most important part of the deal. We are ecstatic over our (her) new A4 Quattro. Made us wish the 8 hour drive to the wine country took even longer, and the dogs had tons of room in back with the rear seats folded down.
(Funny, but little things, like a huge rear seat pass-through make a more significant difference in our lives than do more obvious things like two-zone climate control or a back-up camera.) Anyway, I'm glad we spent a long time looking for the car that she is going to love for years and years. She has already said that she'd be ready to give her car to me if we had bought the Acura TL or the Lexis i300. It might be a while before she offers this car to me.)
I was loving the transmission on the way here. On the highway, it shifts smoothly with no attention needed. On the mountain roads, the Tiptronic makes it as fun to drive as a sports car.
The only problem is the smoothness/180mph-speedometer combination. A couple of times I thought that all surrounding traffic was going slow only to look down and realize that we were going 90. I'm going to have to do some research on speeding tickets and see when it's worthwhile to risk it.
Have fun with your new car!

Thank you. I thought you got the sports package with it too? I have been reading so many posts

As I said before, it's nice to get a good deal, but the Audi has unexpectedly paid off in compliments from friends. I can't count the number of people we know who have come up to us and said, cars are my life and this is a -really- nice car.
So, more power to you if you can save another $500, but more important to do what you want before you get hit by a bus.
Anyway, this whole experience left me wondering. If Edmund's TMV Pricing isn't the final word, what's the best strategy for buyers? Does it all boil down to endlessly shopping the deal? I'm due for a new car myself and if I can't figure out the "best" way to buy, I'll just never pull the trigger.
AJAX, ON, July 2 /CNW/ - Audi Canada achieves best first half ever:

- 52% ahead of June '08 sales
- Year to date sales up by 17%
Audi Canada today reported that 1106 units were registered for the month of June. The leading models in terms of sales were the A4 and A4 Avants, the all-new Audi Q5, the Audi Q7 and the A3.
Other stats about June's numbers (all #s compared to June 2008; Source: CBC.ca, Thursday, July 2, 2009 | 5:22 PM ET):
- Volkswagen sales were the highest in nine years, up 15.8%
- Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. up 26 %
- Kia Canada sales up 37.9 %
- Nissan (incl. Infiniti) up 3.5%
- Honda sales down 20 %

- Chrysler down "more than 50 %"
- Ford cars down, but truck sales surging 36 %
- GM's car sales down almost 40 per cent, and truck sales down 20 %
My advice is shop around at several dealers and also look online. That would give you a number

As far as service, unfortunately I know how this is already. I had a problem already. They have fixed my car and had it back to me in a matter of days each time it was in the shop. They paid for my rental car (a Mercedes or better each time) and have detailed my car for free. They were not as accomodating until I had to lay into them for various reasons- 1) some punk working there nearly ran me over in my car, 2) they just cleared the fault and did no work 2 times ago which required me to come back this last time. I'm hoping that the problem is fixed now, though, and I don't have to keep running in there every couple of weeks.
My new bf is a mechanic, though, so I think that by him calling in as well having self diagnosed the problem, that made them think about how they are going to treat my car. They did keep it for a few days to take their time with it and they said it was with a senior technician, who has 20+ years in the business. So I hope that the repair stays fixed.
Ibis white color 2009 A4 quattro 4 dr Sedan ( premium pkg + ( options : Bluetooth, Heated Seats, Ipod connectivity, 6 CD changer, wood trim) .. The dealer is willing to sell at TMV cost which is about $31,700 , TTL is another 3k
Don't forget that the amount that you pay may differ from what other people are getting because of competition in your area. People in southern CA or NY city have lots of Audi dealerships near by and get better deals than those who's dealership is a few hours drive.
That said, I did another TMV as of 2 minutes ago and guess what? Avant + Premium Package + Metallic paint and a few other small options (same configuration as of 5/21) is now $35,250! That's less than 2 months ago and now it looks like I paid $750 OVER TMV rather than $1,600 under. If I said I could get the car for $1,500 under TMV TODAY, that would indeed be an impressive deal and would price the car at $33,750. Time should be factored into your research since TMV moves around (and by quite a bit as of lately).
So could I have done better? I dunno. I also got $1,000 cash back (after the $36,000) and my first two payments paid for. Did others get similar deals? TMV won't show that.
Don't try and read too much into these things...you'll just go crazy saying "what if?" Stop looking at these forums and enjoy the car...
2009 A4 Quattro 2.0 TFSI Premium w/ heated seats

What was the leasing company you used?
and i will give you the details.
Thoughts?
Thanks!
Peter
Dealer offered a $33500+tax and Title.
MSRP shows $37875
Invoice Shows $35282
TMV shows $33788
Do you think this is a good offer.. Please help... Normally Does TMV prices includes the $2500 Dealer cash ?
Thanks
thank you
Dealer offer is: $37,990
Dealer Invoice: $37,604
I want to negotiate closer to the TMV price of $36,114, do you think this is possible? And do you think the price I received is too much, granted I am looking for an A4 that is black on black with navi and premium plus and this dealership out of the 3 I have gone to was the only one to have the car.
Thanks
1) Tell your dealer that you want to negotiate the price you're willing to pay over the invoice...maybe $500...without considering any marketing incentive money. This price over invoice should be the same for the 09 or 10 models.
2) try to refuse to pay the "dealer administrative fee"...the price you negotiated is the price you're willing to pay over invoice. Doesn't matter if it's preprinted on the form....tell them that your bottom line before taxes, title and registration is the price you negotatiated in step 1.
3) Then discuss how much marketing incentive money there is and deduct it from the dea you just negotiatedl.
By doing it this way you don't let them to blow smoke by using the marketing incentive to let you think that you're getting a good discount.
Car: 2009 White A4 2.0T Quattro
Packages/Options: Premium Plus Package, Navigation package, Exhaust Tips, Audi Care
Qualified for: Audi Loyalty Incentive (-1500), Clunkers (-4500)
Cash Price OTD (after discounts applied): 33,800
There was a clerical error where the dealership double-discounted the clunker. Though the signed contract says 30,040.00 (and is currently all I paid on the check), I do feel somewhat bad to not call myself out, considering their great service and effort to meet my budget. I will likely credit them back the missing balance, and hope for some good karma. A free car cover or MMI cable wouldn't hurt either. :P
For those still hunting for good '09 deals, I suggest moving quick. I had a hellish time finding inventory with the colors/options I wanted. Can anyone assess if I did a good job? It's my first new car, I hope I did well.
My local dealer offered to sell me a 2009 A4 for $800 over cost and that's with no bargaining on my part.
So....$38400+800 profit = $39,200 less all the incentive money puts me at $30,700 for your car. There's probably some administrative fee so I'll add in another $300 bringing it to $31000 plus tax.
but I don't have all the facts (manual/auto, accurate admin fee, etc. Adjust my calcs for your situation and then you'll know if you got a good deal or not.
Next time, ask here FIRST....
Out of curiosity, where are you located, and what specific car was being offered? At 31K + 11% ttl, your deal would put me at 34,410, just about in line with what I got. My A4 is an automatic, and according to Edmunds, a 6-speed quattro does not have the 2500 marketing support (I would have loved the 6-speed, but to pay ~2000 more seemed a bit ridiculous).
Thanks for the heads up, I definitely referred to this thread while working out my price. It took me forever to find a dealer who would entertain the Edmunds TMV ("their numbers are inaccurate" :confuse: ), hence the six hour ordeal.
By the way, this is a 2009. Also, is the promotion of AFS paying for 2 months still on? Thanks a lot.
I did not have any trade in's or loyalty rebate. Just the $2500 marketing support.
MSRP was $37,875
$30,737 + TTL
im in the philadelphia region.
I did not finance, so I cannot offer any insight on AFS promotions.
