07 2.5 VW Jetta engine rpms surge.

y does my engine rpms surge from 1k to almost 3k when i put it in neutral or push my clutch in ?

Its an 07 2.5 jetta with manual tranny

    It does it over and over.. After it warms up and it don't matter if the cruise r a/c is on or off..

    idle speed is controlled by computer so there's no adjustment. You should have the car scanned for trouble codes to see if there's any hint there. Your throttle is controlled also by electronics from the gas pedal, so the trouble codes might pick up a sensor problem or throttle body issue.
