What accessories and/or modifications have you added to your Envoy?

Okay, so we're on the way home from the Dodger game yesterday and my wife asks, "Can you do something to make the car accelerate a little faster?".

I guess I'll be looking to see if there are any of the standard "go-fast" mods available for the Envoy to help her out. :-)

Anyone know if there are any air filters, intakes, headers, and mufflers available yet for the Envoy?

Has anyone found a rubber/vinyl cargo area mat for the 2002 Envoy? (original or aftermarket?)
  • wboatrwboatr Posts: 5
haven't seen any aftermarket products yet, but if any are available, my preferences would be---K&N air filter, quality dual exhaust (borla, etc.), cargo and passenger mats--for those rainy, muddy days, and some type of lift for the front---to level the stance of the Envoy from that forward slant--also would help ground clearance.

I plan to stop into a flooring store and get some black rubber matting for the back of my Envoy.
I'll cut it to fit. With all the gardening crap my wife loads into the back, that should do the job.

What exactly is this matting, is it a floor tile of some sort? many pieces or one?

Here is an e-mail I received from Husky Liners. They say they are now carrying mats and liners for the 2002 Envoy. Hope this helps out. They sent some pictures and I can forward them if anyone is interested.

I have been watching your web site for a cargo liner for a 2002 GMC Envoy. Do you know if and when they will be available.

    From: Steve Bower []

Sometimes our web site is slow to update. The cargo liner along with the front and second seat liners are available for the Envoy/Trailblazer/Bravada. Here are the part numbers:
    #2200x—cargo liner
    #3200x—front liners
    #6200x—second seat liners

“x”=1 for black color liners, “x”=2 for gray color liners and “x”=3 for tan liners

Jrsces: would you please forward the photos to me at Do you know if GMC offers OEM cargo liners for the Envoy?

It's like a carpet runner. It's used in industrial buildings over carpet. It comes in a roll and is cut to the length you need. Not all flooring stores carry it. It's basically the same as a rubber front door mat only it comes on a long roll and comes in different widths.

I know Gibson is working on an exhaust system. I would expect someone will come up with a more efficient intake soon.

Hopefully Hypertech or one of the other programmers will develop a premium fuel spark curve that should be good for a few ponies.

I'd also like to see someone come up a a mild lowering package, 19" wheels, and suspension tweaks to tighten the handling up.

Has anyone found the best price for these yet, I have been looking and defiantly want these for my Envoy

I recently ordered a cargo mat from a local GMC dealer's parts dept. I paid $52 + tax, and it arrived in one week. It's got the Envoy logo and matches the interior perfectly. I recommend this approach!

GM is dragging their feet with accessories, but I did find a couple places where you can get some accessories for the 2002 Envoy!

    Bug/Stone Deflector:

    Rear Cargo Liners/Mats:

    Rubber lipped (weathertech/husky style)

I'm still looking for window vent visors, so if you know of anyplace that has them, please send me an email.

Thought I'd paste this in here for reference for TB / Envoy Running Boards

    2002 Envoy Running Boards-Final Chapter by jw4gm Aug 27, 2001 (06:06 am)

A few weeks back, I reported that running board #12497885 did NOT fit my Envoy. Since I still wanted running boards, I went to my GMC dealer, copied the VIN of a new Envoy with running boards, took the VIN to the parts counter and asked the parts guy to check the options list for that Envoy and give me the part number of the factory installed running boards. He readily complied and part #12497886 showed up. The list price was $329. I asked him to match the price of $247 and he did (but did add tax). They came in six days later and fit perfectly. The kit includes mounting bolts and instructions and the boards are OEM. Ironically, the instruction sheet is identical to the one in kit #12497885 (Envoy/Trailblazer) I got from

    Bottom line:

    12497885 are TB

    12497886 are Envoy

    Use to order

MacNiel makes deflectors for the 2002 Trio:

    TrailBlazer: Part No: 50077 $54.95 $12.00 S&H

    Bravada: Part No: 50078

    Envoy: Part No: 50079

But Automotive Interiors ( will sell you one at their price of $45 + 12 S&H.

Installation required NO DRILLING, only a screwdriver. They give you plastic plugs for the factory square holes under the hood, along with screws rubber washers. Side sections had 3M tape.

I just checked the price for the #12497886 running boards on the gmpartsdirect web site and they are priced at $203.00
  • Can anyone who has installed the OEM running boards for the 2002 Envoy tell me if it ws very difficult? I am planning on ordering the boards form GMpartsdirect and I am pretty handy. I just don't want to get them if they require drilling/ or any major work or tools. It sounds like it should be pretty simple, but I want to get some 1st hand input. Thanks in advance. You can post on this board or e-mail me at

With thanks to mgrcm from the main forum, I'm posting here for easy reference too:

    2602 of 2653 Envoy mudflaps by mgrcm Oct 27, 2001 (05:13 am)
For the person looking for mudflaps for there Envoy the part numbers are-
I had my dealer put them on and they say GMC on them. They are moulded plastic they fit and look good. They help some but don't stop the paint chipping from stone's on the rear lower panel just in front of the rear tire's.

  • I recently added the Manik step bars to my 2002 Envoy. I love the way they look and how easy they were to mount (5 minutes per side; no drilling using stock tapped holes).

Unfortunately, it was not easy to purchase them.
    - Ordered in August
    - Received in mid October WITHOUT any mounting hardware
    - Received the mounting hardware EXCEPT 6 bolts in early November
    - Received remaining bolts in mid November.

I also removed the "Envoy" trim from the tailgate today (thanks Tim!) and put a 3" chrome / round exhaust tip on (had to cut the end of the stock exhaust tip to make it work).

There is a picture in the picture forum....

Just installed a set of AutoVentShade window visors and taillight covers on my 2002 Envoy. The taillight blackouts really set off the rear of the Envoy since they match the rear fascia that surround the rear glass perfectly. I ordered them thru special orders of /

    Refer to for particular application.
    VentVisor 4Pc set Part number 94802 $54.95
    TailShades Part number 33250 $44.95
Slots Taillight Covers Part number 36316 $34.95

(Tailshades are translucent blackouts -- tailights/brake lights shine thru when on -- recommend replacing bulbs w/ halogens)
May be illegal in some locales -- check local laws before ordering!
  • After seeing the paint destroyed on the front-end of my last two Jimmy's, I'm looking at these "Invisible Bra's" made by Invinca-Shield. It is a clear 3M film. Does anyone have any experience with these?

  • Thanks to all who post here, got some great info. Haven't seen this anywhere, so I thought I would pass it along. I purchased the grill insert from my dealer. Got it for $275. Your mileage may vary, probably a little high. Click on next package options to see what they offer. Couldn't get prices from the site, but you could take #'s to your dealer and order through them.

uhltronics makes a "triad" adapter that will allow you to use a Nokia handsfree kit in conjunction with your OnStar system to hear the phone audio thru the stereo system....The site notes it's for SAABs, but if you read the FAQ you can use it with ANY OnStar equipped vehicle...
