When driving 55 mile per hour and you let off the gas the vehicle starts shaking. It only happens at this speed. Any ideas?

tires or wheels are inbalanced, out of round, bent, etc. are most likely. Also possible is a very servere misalignment of the front end (caster way out, I believe, would cause this).

tie rod? bent rim, out of balance tires, bad springs/shocks

    bent drive shaft?

Not a tie rod or driveshaft, neither would be that speed specific I don't believe. Usually, very speed specific vibrations are balance related, except for the caster thing (like when you push a supermarket shopping cart too fast sometimes.)

Check the steering stable-izer. If bad it will give you symptoms of tires being serverly unbalanced. Typically occurs over rough road, but could be speed dependant as well. -- ~$70, dealer part

    Yep, that's a good suggestion.
