Millenia squeaks while driving

Hey everyone.

I recently purchased a 1998 Mazda Millenia (base model) with 68,000. Yesterday, I heard squeaking noises coming from the rear of the car (to the best of knowledge). The squeaking is not terribly loud or noticeable while driving on smooth road; it's more noticeable while driving on bumpy road. Also, this squeaking noise is audible when I'm getting in and out of the car.

I think the problem lies in the suspension. Has anyone had this problem or can give me a detailed diagnosis? I really appreciate anyone reading my post! Thanks.

My car does the same thing...I have a 97 S model and I've noticed when going over either speed bumps or rough roads...you can hear it big time...I'll be checking the board for an answer...

Your coil springs may be rubbing together.

you could have bushings dry or worn on anything such as shock bolt areas, spring attachments, etc. try a little WD40 as a test. if that cleared it up, spray one of the thicker silicones in that area for a stopgap fix. if this area is a rubber bushing, and you see mushrooming or cracks, or pieces missing, it really needs to be replaced.

or maybe trade for another car that squeaks in your key, so you can sing along ;)

Or visit the "rodent" topic on this board (just kidding, couldn't resist).

My '98 was doing the exact same thing at about 32K miles. Dealer replaced the rear trailing arms under warranty. Problem solved.

    Hope that helps.
