    "Dark horse cars are virtually as good as the well-known cars — most notably Toyota and Honda — but you don't have to pay for the name."

    Great advice, but where's the examples? In an article dealing with buying used cars, to put this statement out there and not folllow up makes me think you don't know what they are either.

    "Dark Horse Car Company." doesn't pay the bills at Edmonds?

    I think that's a code word for Mazda and Mitsubishi :p
