So do you think I could talk them down at all? I approached another dealership, at which I just bought a brand new Titan at, in December, with this quote and they wouldn't touch it. (I was quite surprised.) Thanks again!
  • thenebeanthenebean Member Posts: 1,124
could you talk them down? who knows - probably not - they are giving you a fantastic deal off the bat - there's nothing like getting a customer who you hand a car away to, and they ask you for more...really just kills the deal for everyone. i think you are getting MORE than a fair deal, and you should go back and take it and be happy with your new car!

    good luck!

"Got quoted 18,400 this weekend for a 2.5S with Airbag/ABS and Convenience Plus. this price included the 1500 cash incentive."
    _ _ ___ _ _ _ __ _ _ _ _

I really want to know the dealer and location too. That's $3600 below invoice (or $2100 not counting $1500 incentive)

I am planning to buy Nissan altima 2.5 S either basic model or the one with Convenience package plus. My friend suggestedme that 16000 for basic and 17,500 for Convenience plus are the fair prices. Can anyone suggest on this please

I'm considering the purchase of an Altima SE-R and note that Nissan offers a "Security + Plus Silver" Service Agreement that can extend coverage on over 900 components to as long as 7 years/100,000 miles, choice of $0 or $50 deductible.

I haven't had any experience with Nissan before, but have run across claims with other brands that there is considerable dealer markup on such extended warranties, and that this can become a significant part of the overall deal that is negotiated.

Would be interested in learning what experiences Altima buyers have had in negotiating a good price for this coverage. Thanks!

I am also considering a purchase of an se-r. Was quoted $26970 on an msrp of $30830. I was also wondering about the warranty program and will let you know
  • thenebeanthenebean Member Posts: 1,124
in recent months, nissan has raised the price of their warranties. i would always recommend a factory backed extended warranty to an aftermarket one - because with a company like nissan, they'll be here a while, and will honor the contract. I have the Gold Preferred Plan on my car for 75k miles and $0 deductible, and for just the piece of mind, i think it's worth it. besides, i do a lot of driving, and i will be close to the end of my extended warranty before i even get to the end of the 3 years (way past 36000 miles) of the original! as far as negotiating it, it is negotiable - dont worry about what the dealer owns it for, just try to get to a number that you feel comfortable with! (that's really it should all ever be about, in my opinion)

anyways, the prices on the SE-R's look very competitive - sounds like you're getting good deals! enjoy!

I am currently trying to negotiate a lease for a 3.5 SL.. The MSRP is $28,270 which matches Edmunds numbers and the dealer has agreed to a price ( cap cost ) of $24,591 which is invoice less the $1500 rebate. For a 24 month/12,000 mile lease he is using a 67% residual and a money factor of .00175 . Are these correct ? I have seen recent messages that indicate a residual of 68% and a money factor of .00127. I am in Texas but don't know where the other posters are located. The difference in payments when using the lower numbers is a bunch. I also checked on a 36 mo/12,000 mile lease and the residual dropped to 58% at this dealer and 56% at another. The dealer that used the lower residual also had higher money factors of .00225 foe a 24 mo. lease and .00277 for a 36 mo. lease.

Hi, I am considering a 3.5sl black on charcoal in new york city. I wanted to ask how much will you guys think I will be able to get this car for. Can anyone suggest some good dealerships around nyc area. I saw a 3.5sl MSRP:
$28,170.00 already in stock at nemet nissan in queens I was wondering whats the best price I will able to get it down to. The car also comes with the following options:
    Floor/Trunk Mat Set
    Protection Package
Includes first aid kit and emergency kit.
Side Sill & Rear Splash Guards
    NOT AVAILABLE with B10.
The price at carsdirect.com is $24,091 I was wondering if I can get below that or match that in a nyc dealership. I was hoping someone suggest a given price after everything. I was also intrested in the 3.5 se with Leather Sport package, automatic, side and splash guards. Thanx in advance.

You've got at least two other Nissan dealers in Queens: Koeppel and Star. They all do high volume so work them off of each other. I bought from Koeppel in 03 and think that they're decent to buy from but the service isn't too great.

Nemt actually has an unsatisfactory rating by the better business bureua

Wanted to get some advice on a potential purchase of an Altima SL,

    - Invoice $25,064
    - Side Sill & Splash - $262
    - Floor/Trunk Mat - $119
    Destination - $580
    = $26,025 Invoice asking $26,225
    -$1,500 Cash Back = $24,725
    Then TT& Trade In
    Good Deal?
Have a Trade in Toyota Camry LE Leather seats - Offered me $7,000
    Is Docking Fee negotiable?
He does not have the car in inventory and will have to locate.
  • aztecfcmomaztecfcmom Member Posts: 1
is the 1500 rebate included in that price?
  • been_therebeen_there Member Posts: 16

recently bought 2005 nissan altima 2.5S in red (sonoma sunset) color for 900 below invoice price plus another 1500 in rebates plus 100 dollars worth of free service..
    invoice = 19099
    mats invoice = 119
    splash guards invoice = 91
    ----------------------------
    total invoice = 19309
    price paid = 16888 (after 1500 rebate)

    4 oil changes free instead of just 1 ( 3*25 = 75)

    total savings = 19309-16888+75 = 2496

I found another deal at a dealer where at 16988 i was also getting these other options for free (side air bag, ABS brakes, rear spoiler, splash guards) making it 3400 dollars below invoice price.. also had 4 free oil changes.. but this car was in silver and i wanted red.. i know i know.. many people will think that who leaves 1500 dollars worth of options just for color.. but i have had silver for last 6 yrs and was tired of it now.. and the red one looks so cool..
anyways.. if anyone wants the dealers address for the deal then reply to this msg..

    i am in sacramento area..

can anyone give me more info on this. the website says visit your local dealer for more info but trying to work as much O.T. as I can just to have the possiblity to gather up a good downpayment for one I cannot visit my local dealer right at the moment, actually i get about an hour of internet in the morning to check out deals and email dealers back......but enought of my problems....Does Anyone Know How Much Cash Insentive This 'Bottom Line Clearance' Is Actually Giving Back To Consumers? thanks for any help guys!
  • liandykliandyk Member Posts: 12
I am as much confused about the web site. I went to my local Nissan dealer and asked what the deals were for Aug. They told me none! I asked which car/SUV are they trying clear out....they told me none of the SUV's. They said they were offering a good lease deal on the Altima 2.5 base, which did not seem so great of a deal. However, this dealer has never been forthright with me before! They have always been beaten by the surrounding competition. Alas, I keep going back to them hoping......that one day......they can work with me........I live right across the street......oh well I guess I have to travel the 15 miles to get the better deal!
  • thenebeanthenebean Member Posts: 1,124
the rebates and interest rates have not changed on the altima since last month. i cant speak for the lease rates, but i have a feeling they've gone up. if you hold out too long waiting for a good deal, you may end up without anything. there is such a fear among people that someone will pay less than they did...if it makes anyone feel better, i bought a nissan sentra se-r spec v in 2002 (it was an 03 model) and the only "incentive" i had was 3.9% financing for 60 months. now, the spec Vs have $2500 in rebates...

do i feel bad? nah! i love my car, i can afford it, and i dont give two poops what the guy next to me paid for it...

i requested quotes from my local dealers in sacramento and today i got this email stating that

"FUTURE NISSAN INTERNET DEPT = EMPLOYEE PRICING"

anyone else getting this email? what can I expect to pay for a base model altima 2.5s manual? under employee pricing?
  • thenebeanthenebean Member Posts: 1,124
thats gotta be a "dealer" gimmick. nissan doesnt have "employee" pricing in the way that GM, Ford or Chrysler have. there is the VPP program for vendors of nissan who get about $200 below invoice on pricing - haggle free. other than that, no dice.

the altima with a manual tranny can be funny - there aren't tons of them, and they can be surprisingly popular. invoice or below can be had, and if they throw you $100 below invoice minus the rebate, i'd take it. a car like that only has about $500 in holdback anyways (for those who like to base their deals on holdback)

    good luck!

I just got an email back from nissan motor company, they told me that new incentives should have taken effect August 4th-September 30th. Any new info???
  • dilbertmdilbertm Member Posts: 2
Which dealer in Sacto gave you that deal Been there ?. Sounds increadible. Do they actually make anything ?. I want a base Altima SE 3.5 . What would you think would be a good price relative to invoice ?.
  • warlock1806warlock1806 Member Posts: 5
Well, had been looking around for a while, after eliminating a few of the coupes i'd been looking at for various reasons i came across the SE-R Altima and liked it alot after 2 drives in it and decided it was the way to go. Just picked it up today and was almost late for work cause i took the long the way.

got it for 28,884 out the door with all my fees and what not included into that. So i ended up about 300 over edmunds TMV. So all in all i think i did alright for my very first new car purchase, sticker was 31,020 on it

auto, Code red, all the options (except the sat. radio).
  • dilbertmdilbertm Member Posts: 2
thanks again. Thats great. You still paid the desitnation charge though, correct ?. My guess is that 250 incentive must be bigger to get action from two dealers so fast.

Please do not ask for or provide the names of salespeople or other dealership staff as this is against forum rules. Please see the text above the "post a message" box at the bottom of the page.

I'm probably going to lease a 2.5 S in the next week or so, and wondered if anyone had success negotiating with Nissan Dealers in the central New Jersey area. Most of the posts here refer to people's experience on the west coast (e.g., CA. WA.). Is it realistic for me to get a couple of thousand off invoice for this vehicle? ($1500 rebate + 580 holdback). If so, what percentage rate are they likely to offer on a three-year lease? I don't plan on putting anything down either, so I know the monthly payment might be a little higher as a result.
  • thenebeanthenebean Member Posts: 1,124
a couple of thousand off invoice seems a bit high - yeah, there's holdback, but they arent likely to just hand that to you...

    -thene :)
  • gsh74gsh74 Member Posts: 2
Thanks for your prompt reply. . . I'm prepared to haggle, (hey, I'm from NJ) but want to be realistic about how much they're likely to accept. First dealer I went to admitted they had more than 50 of the 2.5 S in stock. . .

  • thenebeanthenebean Member Posts: 1,124
hey, off topic, but you have the same initials as papa bear halas (george halas, founder of the chicago bears)

anyways, if they have 50 in stock, they may be more likely to deal

    good luck!

I am looking to lease an Altima 2005 2.5S base model with ABS/Side Airbag package in NJ. Please let me know if this sounds like a deal:

Total out of pocket - $3,000 (includes bank fee, $down, 1st month).
    24 month lease - $69/month - 12,000 miles per year

When negotiating a lease, will the dealer agree not to charge a Bank Fee? At $69/month for 24 months, what should the total out of pocket down be to get a good deal? Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

    E.K.

    hi,
can you tell me where did you buy your car for 16500
    state, city?
  • waynedhwaynedh Member Posts: 1
I am in Rochester NY area. I am hunting for an Altima 2.5S with ABS/Side Bag option (invoice is $20076). The best deal I found around Rochester is $18576, $1500 rebate offer included. This is only possible through the sale's manager directly, who happened to be a friend of mine. Basically, the dealer offers the car at invoice price. All other quote are $19000+. These deals are way higher than those reported here from other area. I wander if I should drive to NJ to hunt one and drive back to Rochester. With that money, I could buy Accord LX or Camry LE, even locally.

Hi all, I am brand new to leasing so I wanted to see if the deal I am looking at is ok....

Car Specs.... 2005 nissan altima 2.5 s, 5 speed manual, silver... real short on options only has the splash guards, floor mats, and first aid kit, msrp is $20,260

lease terms are 36 months 15,000 miles per year
absolutely nothing out of pocket at signing except for mv plate fee (about 17 dollars), tax, bank fees, inception fees and all dealer fees rolled into lease including the first payment

comes down to 269 a month, 35 payments since the first one was rolled in

please let me know soon, i am about to buy it but im nervous that i could do better even though i shopped the price to about 5 dealers... also, what are my chances of getting a spoiler thrown in to close the deal?
  • banditboybanditboy Member Posts: 54
I am so much trouble finding any 5 spds near boston area.Every one i see is the stripped down no option version.I am looking at convience plus and abs package

I have checked 5 dealers around and willing to travel ..so if someone knows about one help

I did it a little differently than the nationally advertised lease deal...

    2 years
    $1500 down
    18K miles per year
    $290 per mo including tax.

The only options car had was: automatic, side air bags/abs, a compass mirror, first aid kit, floor mats and splash guards.

There was some $750 rebate here in CA. that dealerships can flip to the consumer as well that is not advertised. The car was sold to me at $100 over dealer invoice. (That was 4 months ago though)

Has been a great car in last 7,500 miles. The stock Continental tires are garbage though and replaced them with Michelin Pilot Exaltos. Car is much more fun than any Accord I've owned. Only one or two warranty issues since owned and they were minor. I went from a 2005 Mercedes E500 to this car and actually much happier in the long run because its been more reliable!
  • spotbearsdspotbearsd Member Posts: 33
Oh.. and they also threw in 5 free oil change coupons.
(FYI-that $1,500 down was my total drive-off btw)

This is what i was looking for
Nissan Altima 2.5 SL with the moonroof.
It shows an invoice of 21200 on Edmunds add onther 600 for the sunroof + 8% TTL gets it to around 23544 OTD. I was willing to pay 23K OTD but the dealer did not seem interested.
Am i missing something ? I would think i was being fair.
    Pls comment.

I'm trying to build a 2006 Nissan Altima 3.5 SL 5A on the main Nissan web site.
I select the car, pick my colors (exterior/interior), it automatically select 5A as the drive train, then I go to options.
I click on Sirrus radio, and it says I have to add the Traction Control and Side Air bags for $800.
It also adds a bunch of other stuff if I add splash guards.

What does Sirrus radio have to do with Traction Control and side air bags? I hope this is a web mistake.

Does anyone know if this is really the case when trying to add Sirrus or XM?
  • jlam2jlam2 Member Posts: 21
You will be lucky if you can find one in the entire United States with the side air bag option. There is exactly 2 altima SE Auto I found so far. There are over 1000 Altima SE Auto in the country. Even though Nissan advertise the side airbag option it is for sales purpose only, they never bother to make more than 1000 of them.
  • robviarobvia Member Posts: 19
I plan on ordering a 2006 from the factory and waiting. The reason I'll do that is because I want blue, and no one seems to have that color. The last thing I want is the same old brown, grey, or silver everyone else has.

The thing is, I don't want the TCS and side air bags. I just want Sirrus, but when I select that option, it adds TCS. Weird.

Does anyone know what kind of dealer cash or extra incentives Nissan dealers have to move out the last of the '05 Altimas? I have gotten a few quotes around invoice minus $1500 in advertised rebates for and SE. The thing is that edmunds is telling me that the invoice price of the '06s will only be $155 more than the '05s, and there seems to already be a $1000 rebate on them, objectively making the comparable '06 only $655 more expensive than the '05. Surely the dealers have more in their pockets to move these cars, no? The question is how much, and then, whether it is worth it to take the older model year given the much faster depreciation.

    Any thoughts?
  • mentemente Member Posts: 11
Yes, I've been quoted the same... what do people think: '05 3.5L SE standard = $21,200? That's after rebates (before TTLD). Today is the last day for incentive, and I'm wondering if it'll go up to get rid of the 05s. Can I do better?
  • wileeebwileeeb Member Posts: 16
    (1) I was car shopping today. Didn't want a 5 spd. But, if you are willing to travel to Las Vegas, at the dealership in Henderson, NV (about ten miles from Vegas) 100% of their 2.5 engines were 5 speed.
