2001.5 VW Passat GLS 1.8t Light Problems

I have a 2001.5 VW Passat GLS 1.8t purchased in July with 10,500 miles on it. In the last 4 weeks both daytime running front lights, fog light and one tail light have all burned out. From previous car ownership have never had lights go out so quickly, so this can not be normal. Dealer says nothing about it, just replaces bulbs. Could this be an electrical problem? Anyone have similar experiences and if so any suggestions on getting these problems fixed once and for all? Thanks in advance.

It's a VW owners club that has a zillion Passat owners there. If there's a problem with Passat electricals, they'll know about it.

You may have an overcharging alternator.

Why don't you repost this question in our "Electrical Gremlins" discussion? You may get more responses there as well. This is too specific a question to carry an entire new discussion.

    thank you,
