NOBODY is going to sell a Corolla LE for over $2K below invoice. There is just no way I can believe this post unless I see a signed Purchase Agreement.
This is in SoCal.
That is a graet deal. I am in North Carolina, and the best offer i have is 15400, Not including TTL.
ABS, Audio Value Package are the options.
TMV invoice is 15,678.
How did you guys get this crazy deal?
WoW you must be quite good bargainers.
looks like this person got the deal becoz, of monthend lot clearance.
what about you, did you too buy the car at the end of may?
I also went through this with another poster back in September that came up with an unbelievable deal, coincidentally on a very similar auto. When pushed to provide dealership info, he never provided it and disappeared after simply giving the state.
That is why I don't believe it.
And judging by the number of responses for people looking for dealership info because they cannot believe it, I'm not alone.
I am looking to buy a corolla CE model (nothing fancy, probably just a basic one). I am wondering if there is anything significant differences in turns of pricing, dealership's willingness to negotiate, and tax/registration fees between the 2 states. The car will be used in Arizona.
I have been looking through dealer's web specials. The advertised prices seem similar, but I don't know the true cost (i.e. when you include TTL and other stuff). I would really appreciate it if someone can shed some light on this subject. Thank you in advance
I've got the audio value package and weatherguard. That's all. So am I still a liar?
Jeez.
Since I benefited from the forum, I just wanted to share my experience with others. I do not have to give any misinformation. It is upto the individual to believe it or not.
With this experience, certainly I will think twice before I post anything on the forums.
Thanks everyone.
BTW, I purchased my car from Claremont Toyota.
Nobody is accusing you of anything. You had one heck of a deal, Good for you. It just happens that one person couldnt believe it. We all appreciate your taking the time to share this info with us. this would help us negotiate better.
Thanks
Thanks
K
The price is a little bit lower than the invoice, don't know whether it is a deal or not.
Have a great time on your car.
Bye

Jim Coleman Toyota, Bethesda, MD
2006 Corolla LE Automatic Transmission
VV Audio Value Package (6 disk CD plus cruise control)
CT Carpet Floor Trunk Mat Set (5 mats)
CK All Weather Guard Package
Sticker price: $17,112
Sales price: $15,000 (including $500 rebate)
Out the door price: $16,090 (with new tags, registration, tax, $100 doc fee)
Not much negotiation required.
I am looking for a 2006 Corolla LE (auto) with Side air bags, ABS.
I was offered an OTD price for $16600 (which includes 8.375% NY tax, title registration, and New York tire fees?) Is this possible? Since it is an OTD price, what kinds of tricks can the dealer do to maximize their profit? Bait and switch maybe?
The second best offer I got is $17037.50 OTD.
From the email I got from the dealer, the corolla has:
Vehicle Base Model
50 State Emissions .........................
Driver & Passenger Side & Curtain Airbags ..
All Weather Guard Package ..................
Anti-Lock Brake System with Tire Pressure Monitor....................................
Audio Value Package Includes: AM/FM/In-Dash CD Changer w/6 Speakers and Cruise Control .............................
Carpet Floor Mats/Cargo Mat (5pc) ..........
The first dealer is a little bit far away from New York City, maybe that is why?
The rest of the the offers I got vary from $17570 to $17800. And they are not willing to negotiate.
Any suggestions/comments?
Thanks in advance.
I would say go for it!!
This offer is better than anything i have onhand now.
I am in NC, and looking for a car in VA,MD.

I am afraid that the dealer may play some tricks.
On their Friday ads, they have a 2006 corolla LE for $12999 (base model, and you have to add destination fee, tax, title etc.) In order to get that price you have do 90% finace through the dealer (might be a 10% APR or more?)
$16600 sounds really tempting. I believe the dealer has no profit for that price. $17000 sounds more real, don't you think?
MSRP 14,105
all weather guard 70
floor mats 88
delivery 580
total MSRP 14,843
NJ tax = 6 % (currently)
state fee of about $10 for tire disposal
about $50 for a registration transfer
Out the door cost = $14,717
No trade, cash payment.
Ha Ha, I would get the car except it is too far. I am in NC.
bye

Anyone knows the lowest auto interest rate today, for new car and 60 mo term? thanks
wt
1. I have about 400 miles on a new Corolla CE (5 speed. When the car is at rest and the steering wheel is turned, the idle increases slightly from about 800 to 1200 rpm). I have seen this behavior with motorcycles (because the throttle control is from a cable running inline with the handlebars and only when it is not adjusted properly), but I can't think of any mechanism to explain this on a car.
2. When shifting, there is a slight increase in engine rpm before decreasing (even after the clutch pedal is fully depressed). I've driven just about every type of car on the planet and I have only seen this behavior on the lowest grade used cars. I did not expect this from a brand new Corolla. Has anyone else experienced this? Perhaps 1 and 2 are related?
Maund Toyota in Austin has been advertising 2006 LE's at $3,000 off MSRP. Offier is for-real, I bought one at this price. $19,000 car for $16,000! Didn't do a trade-in. It wasn't loaded with a bunch of "Gulf States" junk either.
The bad news:
They have sold-out. Not sure if they will run any more at this price.
Still haven't figured out 2 yet.
After a hunt for over 2 weeks, i got a decent deal for a Corolla LE auto,
Corolla LE Auto, Audio Package (cruise & 6-CD) Weather Package , Door mats and cargo mat.
Base price: 14270
Grad Discount: 400
Final OTD price with everything: 14650.
Edmunds TMV is 15500 for base price.
I got this price from Alexandria Toyota, VA. I liked the great service there. Financed with toyota for 4.9% for 60 months. These forums helped me in understanding the bargain dynamics, thanks to all who helped. If you are in or around this region look out fot tent sales and buy your cars, Beltway Toyota and Alexandria Toyota would be my recommendations. BTW, I am from NC, and went o VA for this deal! 250 miles!!!!
All the very best.
Thanks

I can't decide between camry and corolla. Guess I will go with corolla... eventually :confuse:

They are offering 60 mos @ 4.9
Any comments?
I wish I live in VA. Gotta love 3% tax.
I also plan to buy a car from another state.
Please tell me:
1) do you have to pay the tax difference (NC -VA)? In MI there is a 6%tax, so if I buy from VA I would have to pay this difference (3%)
2) do you have to do the regular maintenance at a Toyota dealership during waranty period? However, I assume it shouldn't necessarily be the same dealership you bought it from.
Thanks , and enjoy the new car.
You do not have to do the maintenance at a Toyota dealer, but you MUST perform all the maintenance outlined in the owner's manual. If you have someone else do it, obtain detailed receipts and keep them with dates and mileage on them. If you do it yourself, for example oil changes, keep store receipts for the oil, and the receipt for the oil filters and drain plug gaskets. Also, (if you do it yourself) keep a small note book of when you performed the oil change (dates and miles) and sign it.
No matter who does the work, I highly recommend using Toyota parts. If you must, buy them yourself and give them to your mechanic. You are buying the best car possible, do not skimp on the parts.
P1 (பிரபு)
honest about your experiences!
Secondly I am graduating college and decided
to get a Corolla, but the cheapest I found in MN is
CE AUTO, (nothing else) is 144xx
LE AUTO, (nothing else) is 153xx
Not to mension sales tax is 6.5%
Who can think of a moon roof when things are that
expensive
Anyone near by got a better deal?
You are right, I will definitely use Toyota parts.
