How about electric demo cars and tax rebates? I just got home from buying an "Unregistered Dealer Demonstrator." Would I still qualify for the tax rebate if it has been unregistered? Or would I no longer qualify as the car is now "Used" and no longer new?

    If unregistered, you should qualify.

Never thought of just using the demo car. I feel like you can get a good deal depending on the dealer you got it.

I wish I had read your article on Demos before my wife and I purchased a demo "Venue" from Parkway Motors in Wilmington NC. We were told it was a great deal but it turned out that it cost us MORE than a brand new identical vehicle (dealer discount applied). We got no dealer discount for the 4,644 miles on the vehicle we purchased. We also got nailed on our trade-in 2015 Mazda 3 trade-in. We feel so foolish now. The car is also underpowered at 121 HP and a 1.6L engine. It might take us a while to get over this raking over the coals.
