"This is a case of Tesla playing catch up with its competitors as most of the new features announced are already available on numerous cars in the luxury sedan class." Which other car is driven by dual electric motors and does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds?

@themandarin- None... It might have been missing a few safety features you could find with the Q70, but this car is light years above the comp with it not only being a green car, but a high performance one that looks damn good too. I'm sold!

I think one reaches a point where 0-60 in 3.2 sec or 4.2 sec is somewhat irrelevant to everyday driving. There are the bragging rights, though! :)

As for the other techie stuff, I do think Tesla is playing 90% catch-up on current tech and 10% move ahead on their optional features.

Tesla's biggest challenge may be price competition.

I have thought a lot of things about my P85, but never once have I thought it needed more power. This is awesome! I can only imagine how jaw dropping the P85D is to drive.

Unfortunately, I have not had a good experience with my Model S. The P85D is something I will covet from a far. I need to believe that Tesla is finally producing reliable cars before I give them my money again.

Impressive performance, but I would not buy the D. I'd take the RWD P85 and keep the nice balance of the current car.
