2002 vw vr6 jetta starts drive some times shuts off wait 10-15 minutes ok for awhile 1 week to 3 weeks all over again check eng lite comes on trans shife hard after shut off please help shop don't have any ideal cost me a lot and still the same

With intermittent problems you have to have your scan equipment or test equipment on the car when it is occurring. Of course, there may be a code stored in the computer so that's worth checking. Maybe that will give you a hint as to where to start. As for a shop that doesn't have "any idea", --you shouldn't be going there.5
