hello, I have an automatic Jetta and just hit 130,000 miles. Recently, my car would randomly after I turn it on and put it in drive, the car would jerk forward and make like a popping noise. Then the car drives fine as usual. As if the gears are slipping? Is this a sign that my transmission is going out? What else can cause this? What should I do?

Well, when you put it in gear, do the revs go up on the tachometer while the car remains stationary, (as if it were in neutral) and then the transmission "kicks in"?
