Aftermarket headrest TVs

Got my venture used and it had aftermarket headrest TVs. The DVD player comes on and the screen lights are on and the screen flickers when youturn the power on but no picture. The stereo is also aftermarket could that have something to do with it or is there a certain setting the DVD or cd player has to be on?
