Brake Squealing On New Leased Honda Accord

Hey everyone,

I leased a 2014 Honda Accord Touring from my local dealership in May and the vehicle had roughly 1500 miles when I took it over (GM was using it himself). The vehicle now has roughly 8,000 miles and is 6 months into the lease and one of the passenger side breaks is starting to squeel.

I have leased a lot of cars (all Hondas and Acuras) and never have I had a car's breaks ever need replacement during the lease period... forget during the first 6 months of ownership. Is this something that should be covered by warranty and do you think I should take it to the dealership I bought it from, or is any Honda dealership ok (there is one much closer to my house).

Thoughts?

First.. separate how you acquired the car from the actual problem. Whether you lease, finance or pay cash does not matter.

If you think it's a problem that should be addressed under warranty, then you can contact any Honda dealer for warranty work. (for instance, if there is a mechanical failure and that is causing the brakes to squeal). If the brakes are worn out for some reason (and, I doubt that is the case), then maintenance items are on your dime.. and, of course, you can go anywhere you like for that, because you'll be paying for it.

Your first stop might be a tire shop... maybe you just have a pebble caught in there?
