On a lease: rebate on payment for returned car before the last month expired?

Dealer was eager to move cars.... we made a deal and was told I had to wait for new one to come in.... it came in just after I made my last months payment on previous car... dealer said I had to pick up new car before the first of the next month and asked that I not wait til last week of the month when they are busy... Thus, I played by their rules and picked up new car 5 days into previous car's last months payment. Can I expect a rebate on the unused part of that month? They say NOI! They get my money for those 25 days and they get my car!! Is that common?

Once you are into the last month and all payments have been made, you are pretty much finished with your lease.. I doubt you'll see any money back.

I agree that I am unlikely to see anything.... Is that what most leases do? But isn't that just taking my money?? Doubt if I'll get anything but it does seem unfair. It would require them to adjust their software... That plus the fact that they collectively make a bundle on all of this leaves it in their interests to leave this system in place.

Your new lease really has nothing to do with the old one. Your dealer asked you to make a deal sooner than you wanted to. That was the time to decide whether that was in your best interest.

I'm sure they would have let you keep driving the other vehicle until the day the lease was up, assuming you wanted to do that.

Lesson learned for the next time.
