'01 Cavalier stalling

So, about a month ago I bought an '01 Cavalier. I've had very few problems with it. Just replaced the battery. The weather recently dropped and on my way into work today I noticed the temp gauge was climbing pretty high. Kept an eye on it and had no issues getting to work, or leaving after 8 hours there. I stopped for dinner and about 15 minutes after leaving the car stalled. Lights and radio stayed on but vents would only kick cold air. The check gauges light as well as the oil light would come on.

After a few minutes the car started back up, but about 3 or 4 minutes later the same thing happened. And then another few minutes after that it happened again. Any ideas on what could be the issue?

I'm wondering. If you replaced the battery, was this because you were having some difficulty with starting the car? When it stalls, would it restart right away? If not, would it at least crank over?

Battery was replaced a month or two back. I woke up to a dead battery and just replaced it. This is the first stalling issue I've had with the car. Car doesn't immediately crank over when it stalls. It generally will start eventually.
