starting issues - '00 Durango

my 2000 dodge Durango will sometimes not start but I can unhook the battery and it starts. Trying to figure out what is causing this problem

my 2000 dodge Durango will not start after I have been driving it but I can unhook the battery and hook it back up and it starts

I'd have the vehicle scanned to see if something is going on with the security system/immobilizer.
