I came across a 2015.5 T5 AWD Platinum that was marked down from 43k to 38k and the dealer told me that these are no longer "leasable" and that he could lease me a 2016 for $3k drive off, $400 per month without quoting me the msrp and cost cap. I am detecting that this is a red flag and I shouldn't do business with these people. Can anyone confirm?

There are no supported lease numbers for the 2015.5 Volvo lineup, so your dealer is telling you the truth
I don't know what part of the country you're in, but you should email a bunch of dealers in the area, some will still give you a decent lease on a 2015, you may not be able to get the specific car you wanted
