Hey people,
I hope you are all doing well. I just got home with my new 2015 Civic EX coupe. Very excited and happy about this. I wanted to ask you all a question. I don't know if this is the correct sub forum, but you are all amazing people and know I can get some answer here lol. So I'm all types of OCD when it comes to picking up a new things. This is the first brand new car that I've owned, so I've never had to break in a car. I've driven the car about 40 miles now and notice that when I back up or when I break there is a grinding noise coming from either the break system, rooter, or whatever it is. Mind you, I don't know much about cars either, so please forgive me for any stupid questions that I might ask. Back to the noise. I drove the car with the salesman to fill it up and asked him what the noise was. He stated that it was the break system and parts getting used to being driven for the first time. Basically breaking in. I don't know how to explain the noise but it is a grinding noise whenever I back up the car. The breaking in makes sense, but it is still bothering me so I wanted to ask you fine people whether this is typically the case. Any who, thank you all in advance.
