OTD was 20,299... I traded in an 08 Kia Spectra :lemon: for KBB value.. I may have gotten $500 more at CarMax but doubt it.. I had no confidence in the Kia and wanted to get rid of it..
The LX with privacy glass is quite good, but with the money I wasted on the Kia I could have gotten a EXL last year for the same $$.
I'm very pleased with the CRV. It gets better mpg than the little Spectra. lol
Best
Why didn't you just keep the car you loved?
Thanks for asking. I purchased a CRV EX-L royal blue, gray interior today for $23,940, $399 fee, and the usual TTT. Window sticker was $26,717 (includes $670 destination charge). Car was orinially shipped from San Diego to Jacksonville, then transported to a dealership in GA (Nalley). Their sticker was $27,221 adding accent stripe, ultrafill nitrogen (whatever that is) cargo mats, and splash guards. The splash guards and mat was gone by the time I got the car because I asked the dealer I didn't want to pay for the addons. Car was swapped from one here in Jon Hall Honda (Daytona Beach). Excellent dealership to work with. No pressure, very accomidating! They threw in a cargo net, first two oil changes, and window tinting. I did all of the negotiations over the Internet. All I had to do was pick her up. Did I get a good deal? Thanks!
I had a dealer say that prices are good right now because Honda has provided them with some dealer incentives for July. I don't know if he was trying to create urgency, or if he was being honest.
I'm looking to buy a 2009 EX-L 4WD.
Re 09 LX AWD in MA ... Last week my buddy was quoted at $20,651 plus doc fee and TT&L, the MSRP is $23,155
If you want more info click my name to email me.
I would counter offer 25,007 on the MSRP 27,955, invoice 26,052
When it comes to the color of your car, you may be surprised as which color is the most popular among car buyers. According to DuPont Automotive's most recent Color Popularity Report, 18% of new car buyers choose silver. The close second, white/pearl white , is the favorite of 17% of drivers, followed by gray (15%), blue (12%), black and red (11% each).
According to the report, for the sixth year in a row drivers picked silver because it conveys a clean, mechanical image that mirrors technological advances and modern life.
However a study published by British Medical Journal gives other possible reasons for silver's popularity. According to researchers, drivers of silver cars are 50% less likely to get in an injury causing accident than those with white cars. The least safe car colors are brown, black and green. Although the rationale behind this isn't clear, researchers speculate that silver reflects light better and makes the cars more visible.
DuPont Automotive's research also shows that 40% of consumers are likely to switch brands if they can't get the color they want. Are you one of them?

America's Most Popular Car Colors
The 10 hues U.S. drivers most prefer.
Car dealers desperate to shed inventory might want to buy some white paint.
That's because 20% of North America's car buyers drove off in white vehicles this year. Black and silver were also popular--17% of buyers preferred these shades. Blue ranked fourth (13%) and gray rounded out the top five (12%).
What's so great about white? Special pigments called "white effects" can subtly alter a variety of shades, allowing drivers to express their personal styles. Car colors with altered white tones include "Performance White" on the Ford Mustang, Lexus IS 250's "Starfire Pearl" and "Calla White" on the Audi Q7. This is the second year white has topped the list.
"These nuances are more obvious in white," says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute and color consultant, of white's popularity. "It catches the light easily. If you have a pigmented finish, it is going to be more obvious on a white car."
The findings are part of the 2008 DuPont Automotive Color Popularity Report, released this month. DuPont provides coatings for automakers' production lines, and for the collision repair industry.
The report, which measures car colors' percentages of North American market share, found that while black, white and silver remain the most well-liked, other trends are emerging.
Buyers looking for ways to differentiate their cars from others on the road are trying out tri-coat systems, which comprise a base coat, a mid layer containing the color and a special "effect" pigment, and a clear coat.
What's more, "earth-friendly" tones like blue are gaining popularity, says Karen Surcina, color marketing manager with DuPont Performance Coatings. Last year, 12% of buyers preferred blue; this year, the figure is up slightly to 13%. Blue is especially popular among buyers looking to live a greener lifestyle, since it is widely perceived to be representative of nature. Interestingly, green was chosen by just 3% of North American buyers.
But don't expect blue to surpass the top three any time soon. They're universally popular: In Europe, black (solid and with effect), silver and gray reign, accounting for 26%, 20% and 18% of the market. Russians overwhelmingly choose silver cars (30%) while India's market shows a preference for white and white pearl (17% and 11%, respectively) and silver (27%.)
Among the least loved? Yellow/gold and beige/brown--just 2% and 5% of drivers, respectively, prefer these colors.
Color is on the minds not only of consumers, but of automakers as well. A 2007 Ford Motor study found that 39% of consumers will leave a dealership if it doesn't have a vehicle they want in their color of choice.
And to accommodate buyers' appetites for innovative color schemes, by next year, almost half of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles will feature new paint colors. These will include silver and bronze metallics, shades named after foods--including "White Chocolate" and "Candy Apple Red"--and pale blue and green tones.

Europe
Europe is dominated by the popularity of black vehicles in all segments. Black with effect, white/white pearl and silver are most popular across the board with a rise in bright reds in this year's report. The rankings remain consistent for black/black effect with 26 percent of the market, silver with 20 percent and gray with 18 percent.
White/white pearl saw a slight increase in popularity, rising from 8 percent last year to 10 percent in 2008. The warm neutral tones of beige and brown regained popularity in 2008, reaching 4 percent -- up from 2 percent last year.
"Current preferences are strongly influenced by ecological concepts, with demand growing for light, pure and sophisticated looks and the strength of blue showing optimism for the future," said Elke Dirks, DuPont color designer for Europe. "In the long term, we believe that European consumers will ask for a more colorful and individualistic palette from car makers."
Russia
Russian color preference shows an overwhelming use of silver at 30 percent, black and red at 14 percent and slight differences between green (13 percent), blue (12 percent) and white (10 percent). Though Russia leans toward the silver and black color spaces, red and green are more popular there than in any other region, demonstrating the diversity of color trends.
Asia
India's market shows a strong preference toward white and white pearl with 17 and 11 percent respectively, followed by silver with 27 percent. As in Russia, strong chroma colors made a good showing with red at 12 percent and blue at 8 percent. Black and black effect with 6 percent and 1 percent, respectively, was even with yellow and gold at 7 percent.
Silver remains exceptionally strong in the Asian countries of China, South Korea, Japan and India. In South Korea silver represents 50 percent of the market, up from 39 percent last year. Silver is top color with strong growth shown in China as well at 32 percent for 2008, up from 23 percent in 2007. Japan and India report white/white pearl in the top color position (8 and 24 percent and 17 and 11 percent, respectively) with silver making a strong showing with 28 percent in Japan and 27 percent in India.
"Candy white and tri-coat pearl are extremely popular in most of the Asia Pacific area," said Emily Hung, DuPont color designer for the Asia Pacific region. "In Japan we see an overwhelming preference for white pearl or white with effect.
"In India and China we see a wide range of colors offered to attract young buyers to compact cars," Hung said
i am in the eastern, ma area - please send me which dealership you worked with and if you dont mind emailing me the salespersons name that would really help!
thanks!
i want to go tonight and get your model with nav!!
thanks!!!!
Click my name and email me that I can sent you the Herb Chambers Honda quote $20,651 (incl dest) + 298 doc fee + TT&L on AWD LX that I got last week.
I am interested in buying a CR-V EXL silver color in Worcester county, MA. MSRP is $27245 and Invoice is $25342.
What would be a considered a good price (include destination charge)?
I have read a couple of internet sites. I am not aware of whether there's any Honda rebate on CR-V or factory hold back.
Do you think I will get better pricing if I purchase the car at the end of July or Aug?
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.
We pick up the car tonight.
I think you can get it at $24,300 + doc fee + TT&L. Click my name to email me for further info.
Is this good? or are these prices too high. This is in the Milwaukee area.
They seem very high.
I thought things are really bad out there.
Don't they want to sell any cars.
Please advise if I should go lower and how much.
Thanks!!
I had three dealers willing to sell me the CR-V for this price. I could not get any of them to lower their bid.
Many local dealers told me they would not sell it to me for this price or that the dealer was going find a way to bump up the price when I went in to sign the deal.
Thanks.
I have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up because that is when cash for clunkers starts. I can't WAIT to drive it.
I was thinking of putting in a bid of $24K (include destination charge and TTT) and sit and wait. Hoping thay with competitive bidding and near end of quarter (end of Aug), the dealers may give me a good offer. Also there's a $500 Honda rebate.
What do you think?
I know Kuhn Honda (off Kennedy) will give you a $500 giftcard if they can't match another dealer's deal.. but you have to provide them with a Purchase order to get it. I don't reccommend them though because the Internet Sales Manager was quite unpleasant and I could see right though his sales tactics.
Hope this helps!
Bought 2009 Honda CR-V LX two wheel drive for $19,700 + tax, title & license. Included in the price were mud flaps & a trunk tray. Color was Glacier Blue Metallic.
I used edmunds to send requests for quotes to several dealers around me. Ended up buying from the Thousand Oaks Honda Internet Manager. Easy deal, I asked for quote, they sent me a quote, I countered, they accepted and we went down & picked up the car. Entire deal done in 1 day, took about 2 hrs at the dealer to get the paper work done & turn my clunker into cash. The internet manager is much easier than the sales staff to deal with - I had tried on 2 previous times to buy a car from the regular sales staff, but they would not deal - the internet dealer gave me a pretty good price up front.
Breakdown of deal is as follows from contract:
Cash Price of Vehicle & Accessories: $19700
Doc Fee: $55
Sales Tax $1629.79
Total Cash Price $21384.79
Estimated License Fees $227
Registration $66
CA Tire Fees $8.75
Smog Abatement Fee $20
Cash for Clunkers rebate $4600
Final Price $17106.54
The cash for Clunkers was $4500 as a rebate - so I had to pay tax on the entire price of the car (Are others finding this the same way?). They also gave me $100 as a trade-in on the car, which they said the government refunds them.
Another good Internet dealer is Woodland Hills Honda - they actually give me a lower price, but I wanted to move fast and went with a closer dealer.
David
The extra $100 is amount to you for scrapping your old car. Plus old car has to be registered under your name for at least past 1 full year.
Any idea how low will the dealer be able to go? Also when does the August pricing come in?
Thanks!
Hoping someone out here can help me out.
Thank you.
EXL AWD should be good at 25,100 (incl. dest chrg) + doc fee + TT&L.
