Can someone tell me it I can put P235/50R17 tires on my 2009 CTS?

I just picked up a 2009 CTS and it has P235/55R17 tires on it that need replacing. What I would like to know if anyone has put P235/50R17 on ?

You don't want to be doing that. That is going down in load carrying capacity which could lead to a tire failure. Besides, there are a TON of tires in the proper size.

I can't answer your question, but 235/50-17 is substantially smaller diameter than 235/55-17. It would be nearly a full inch smaller in diameter..

Thanks for the info. I was looking for a better profile look without changing to a 18 inch rim.
I have not made up my mind as to what tire I'll be getting. Right now I have it down to Goodyear, Michelin or Yokohama.
