Off road worthy?

The old Toyota 1996 4Runner with 230,000 miles on it is getting ready for replacement. We do a modest amount of off road driving, nothing extreme but certainly class 3-4 on the Jeep Jamboree 10 point rating scale. Usually rugged forest service trails, often crawling down onto rocky river banks and mountain back country roads. We're wondering what people's off road experience with the AWD Durango is like. The car seems highway capable, but I can't get a sense if it would do most of the old 4 Runner could do.

Thanks all.

I've read that the Durango is pretty darn good if you have the 4WD and the 4WD low gearing. I wouldn't use it as a boulder-crusher of course.
