2005 Navigator electrical problem

I was having shifting problems with this vehicle and researched it and found a wire harness that was against the exhaust pipe and melted. Anyone know how to change this harness.

    Not much I can tell you with so little information. In general, the harness has to be identified by using a detailed wiring diagram and then replaced from one connection point to the other one. Splicing in a harness is generally not recommended. This can be tricky work and might be best left to a professional electrical specialist.
