We have a 2009 Dodge 1500- having a problem that only happens sporadically and dealer can not find any issues that could cause this. In the past year we have had three occasions were the truck had stalled without warning and starts right back up and can go months without it happening again. This last time happened during a right hand turn no warning, lost all steering, lights. Scared the daylights out of me, because I almost got hit by another vehicle. Truck started right back up and no issues so far. No check engine lights, nothing. What would cause this and how to fix, anyone have any ideas.

Intermittent failures like this are really tough to track down. Often one has to either wait until the problem gets worse, or you have to have test equipment already hooked up on the car and hope for a failure. This is why tracking down intermittents is so labor intensive and often so frustrating for owner and technician.

Some people just give up and start replacing the "likely suspects", which is expensive and may not work. These include fuel pump, cam sensor and crank sensor, for openers. The list can get pretty long.
