Back to the Future: Autonomous Driving in 1990

Came across this article detailing what an autonomous car was like back in 1995. Sweet stuff. GPS was only used to determine speed as there were no Google maps back then. Anyway, fun nostalgic read

    Amazing they accomplished as much as they did.

    Lately I'm been musing about how autonomous cars might become a kind of "parole" sentence for really bad drivers. But I guess you couldn't legally force someone to buy an autonomous car. :)

    I like where your heads at. Punishment enough making them deal with the headaches that will come along with self-driving cars. But, I'm an average Joe, so I won't be able to afford one in my lifetime anyway.
