2002 Dodge 1500 5.9 transmission wont go in reverse.
I have replaced the rear speed sensor and one on the transmission which stopped a shifting problem from 1-2 and helped reverse a little. Now after a couple of weeks I have no reverse at all. Because it all started when my speedometer went out I am lead to believe that it is a sensor of some sort, but I am no mechanic. Does any one have any insight on this problem for me?

Two possibilities (out of many) come to mind. One might be a reverse band/servo problem. You can usually test this by taking off in low gear and then letting off the gas. If there is little or no engine braking, then that's probably the culprit.
Another possibility is a totally clogged up filter--so if that hasn't been changed in a long time, you might get lucky. Usually though, that's a cold transmission problem only---reverse suddenly appears when everything is warmed up. But still worth a shot.
