Town Car AC

The air conditioning in my 2000 Town Car is shot, I'm under the impression that the evaporator is the culprit. I know that this part is under the dash, making it very expensive to replace. How hard would it be to replace it myself? I want to drive it to New Jersey this summer, AC would be nice!

What makes you think the evaporator is the culprit? Someone would have to have leak tested it. That's how an evaporator goes bad--it starts to leak.

It's about a 4 hour job for a professional mechanic but you'll also need AC service equipment to evacuate, dry and refill the system.

The guy that I bought the car from said that was what is wrong with it. I'll take it to the shop, see what they say.
