Hi Everyone,

I am torn between 2015 Mazda 3 Hatchback i Touring or 2015 Camry XSE. Mazda is cheaper than the Camry so its no brainer there. However, if I go with the Mazda, will I be I sacrificing a lot vs if I go with the Camry?

I tend to keep my car for a long time. I won't be shopping for a car in the next 15-20 yrs. Will the Mazda reliable enough to stay that long? Or will Camry be the best option in this case?

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I think either car is great for commuting which is what I do every day. My commute is 30 miles one way and about 1.5 hrs one way. It could be more due to traffic. I live in Los Angeles.

This will be my first Mazda. My brother (who lives in Asia) drives 2011 Mazda 2 and he recommends Mazda 3 Hatchback plus I love everything about the Mazda 3 Hatchback. This doesn't mean I hate 2015 Camry.

I need help to make a decision soon because I want to take advantage of the Memorial Day sale.

Thanks in advance, everyone!!!

My suggestion is that you take an extended test drive of both cars and see which one fits you better. The Mazda is going to ride a bit rougher than the Camry, but only you can determine if it's uncomfortable.

The Mazda is also smaller than the Camry - how often do you carry other people with you? That might also be an important factor.

Purchase price won't really matter if you are keeping your car for such a long time.

But, it's also an emotional decision - you want to pick the car that you will be happy driving for the next 15 or more years.

Thank you for your reply. You're right. During test driving the Mazda 3, the car felt as smooth as my 2010 corolla LE until it drove over a bump. I felt it much more as if there is no buffer in Mazda 3.

I drive solo most of the time except in the weekend with hubby and one kid or during once-a-month grooming time (2 small dogs total weight 26 lbs).

Hopefully with Memorial Day weekend, they are willing to budge down on the camry price. I like the XSE package. Hubby likes the Mazda 3 hatchback. He test drive it as well but he has no comment on the rough driving or anything like that.
