You should grab a Milepost if you haven't already.

I got my V8 runner in the spring and am now finally towing some trailers, but one thing i find is that the toyota ball mount is rather loose inside the receiver. I am not sure if it is because the ball mount is a bit shorter then normal or just that the 'rust' hasnt built up to what i am accustomed too.
The ball mount is definately shorter then normal, i guess to accomodate the spare tire that would be in the way of a regular length bar.
Do any of you that tow find the toyota ball mount to be loose inside the receiver?
Dennis
Thanks for your clear instructions.
I read your post and I decided to buy the Homelink system in partznet as you said. The price was exactly as you mentioned but when I was trying to install it I found put the there was not instruction manual to program the homelink? so where can I get the operating manual?? it was not shipped in my homelink system???
Where can I find the programming instructions or the operating manual.
Thanks for your help
Jay
Perhaps others can check their 2004 or 2005 manuals in case this information has been moved.
Oh BTW; My dealer matched the Partznet price of $76.00 for the Homelink and the Partznet price on the Driver's Side Assist Handle w/Plugs. I ordered it on Saturday and got it on Monday.
Is it very difficult or you have to take your truck to the dealer?
Thanks
Make sure you have the newest Navigation DVD. Version 4.1 is not accurate. Toyota has a Limited Service campaign for the new version, 4.2.
I am also looking for the rearview mirror but thru Toyota they say it's about $600.00.
Can you pass on the vendor name / e-mail address.
Thanks
I'm in a grass fire area so maintaining my Survivable Space is a bit easier.

I'm concerned that a wood mizer, winch , and a skid, might not do too well on a 70% slope. I will await the delivery of the V-8 Sport 4X4 4Runner and hope that some other reader of this forum has had some experience with a rear-mounted winch, connected to a universal mount on a rear hitch trailer receiver. I'm also curious whether or not the VIP securiy sysem may be a value to me. I drive to work, where I have a secure parking place. I garage my vehicle at my home. I live in a very rural mountain area, but I may well park my vehicle at a trailhead and snowshoe, hike, or mountain bike from the 4Runner. Will the VIP accessory be worth it in my situation? I can still add port installed options until late March. What accessories would any of you wished that you had added, and why?
This is off of the automotive subject, but I wanted to ask you a question or two (if you don't mind). I live in the San Diego area and am looking for some land up in your neck of the woods. Can you tell me what town you are near and the cost per acre, land is going for? Additionally, is there more land available there? I'm also contemplating Oregon. My email address is yobow1@yahoo.com (that's a one after the w). Thanks and I hope to hear from you soon.

Im also interested in the electrochromatic mirror - if anyone can be of any help!
I did and so have many others.
Try searching other websites, 4runner dot org, Tundra solutions dot com for info.
Scion 1804 is single disc, 1805 is 6 disc.
Don't use any other Scion mdl #, these are the newer mdl's.
Have you install your Nav system yet? I have 2000 4Runner SR5 and also want to install the Nav system. How was you experience with it? Can you recommend the best solution/budget Nav system manufacture/online vendor that I should get for my SUV?
Thanks,
Bryant
Also ordered the homelink from Conicelli (Online) for $70.00. The unit(OEM) replaces the current overhead console. has the two lights, sunglass holder, and sunroof switch - it adds three homelink buttons. Very easy install about 10 min. dealer wanted 300.00 to install.
READING THIS FORUM HAS REALLY PAID OFF!! THANKS EVERYONE!

Can you tell me what town/area you are near and the cost, what land is going for, how you found the property(agent, ect)? Additionally, is there more land available there? My email address is skipjakk@yahoo.com Thanks.
Thanks for the help!
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I know they broke my lock mechanism on a rear door, and sent
me off with the 2 upfront speakers rattling in the door: they seem incompetent. Do I now go back and fight with them about this?
Thanks!
My advice: AVOID BEST BUY INSTALLS.
Don't go anywhere except REAL car audio shops. Same goes for home entertainment installation.
I agree that a dedicated car audio shop is the best place to go as they have the most knowledgeable people. I got a pretty good deal at Circuit City at the time that no one could match.

Thanks.
you need to know specifically which trims have or not have it. I seem
to remember the Sport trim is diff while Limited and SR5 are closer in
appearance.
I'm just nervous about all that painted stuff up front with out any protection. I like the way it looks but I'm thinking it will get serious chips easily.
Thanks for the input!
Thanks,
Hec
It seems totally useless.
Thanks

1. What are the factory speakers sizes or replacement size?
2. Will the speakers fit or do I have to buy special brackets (based on what I have read the factory speaker brakets are built into the speakers.)
3. Ins and Outs of disassembling the door.
4. Location(s) of amp(s) (per your experience)?
5. ????
