2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4X4 vs 2015 Subaru Outback

I am currently doing research to see which vehicle would be the better choice. I take care of my mother full time she has mobility problems I'm looking for comfort, actual gas mileage vs what is listed on dealer tag both vehicles with 6 cylinder any feedback would be appreciated.

    Wife and I bought a 2015 Outback 3.6 a few months ago .. wife had been driving SUV's for a number of years and wanted something more "wagon-y". The Outback is much softer riding than the car we came out of (Mazda CX-7).

    I've sat in but never driven the Cherokee so cannot comment on it.
