What happened to the CX-5 NHSTA crash test scores between 2015 and 2016? The NHTSA scores for 2015 were 5/5/5/4 and now for 2016 are 4/4/5/4. What's up with that? The model is the same, so what was changed? The Frontal Barrier Crash Rating for Passenger went from 5 stars to 3 stars!!!

Just a guess.. but, didn't they start doing a new partial overlap front crash test, this year?

If so, maybe the Mazda didn't do as well on that test.

No, they were both tested for the small overlap. This did seem to be the test that the 2016 did poorly in.
