You were correct. Edmunds didnt have the invoice pricing for the options. Looks like the correct MSRP is 42,458 and Invoice is 37,193. What is a fair and closable deal in Western PA given those numbers?

I live in Pittsburgh and was in the market for an RX as well. I submitted quote requests from the various dealers in the area, with no luck in Pitt. I wound up going to Lexus of Akron/Canton and worked with the internet salesman. Although I still have not pulled the trigger on an RX (I'm 24 which may not be the smartest investment), they were great to work with and I told them I would recommend them to anyone. I know they sell a lot of RX's to Pittsburghers. I don't know if you saw the Lexus commercial, but they are advertising a holiday special, which may be low financing. If anyone knows the details of this event related to an RX, I'd be interested in hearing. Good luck!

About this time in '03 we started looking at the RX at our closest dealer (Austin TX, when I asked about the discount for "December to remember" sale he said that "about $1,000" was the most they discounted the RX.

We didn't buy unti the first day of February, but we did get $3500 off MSRP on a Premium Package. This past Sunday's paper had an ad for the dealership advertising $2500 off MSRP for all '05 RXs. I was suprised to see that were that up-front about that big a discount starting off.

Just passing this on to anyone in the central Texas area.

Does anyone have any RX pricing in the Seattle area for this December promotion?
  • eaglesfan1eaglesfan1 Member Posts: 2
Which dealership in Il gave u that quote?. I was given a quote at Peoria for the same features including Destination charge for 41,400 +tax, license and title.
  • eaglesfan1eaglesfan1 Member Posts: 2
That sounds like a great deal. what was the total price you paid for the vehicle including Destination charge? What was the name of the internet rep?

Yesterday I finally closed the deal on my 05 AWD RX330.

    2005 RX330 AWD
    Flint Mica (grey interior)
    Navigation
Premium plus (included 6 CD changer)
    18" wheels
Heated front seats w/rain sensor wipers, headlamp washers
Preferred accessory pkg (cargo mats, wheel locks)
    Transmission cooler..

for the price of 40,750 +TTL , also I got a $500 certificate form the taste of luxury event I can use toward the purchase of the car.

Thank you all for the discussion thread so I was well informed on my negotiation with them.

I paid cash for my RX, but the dealer kept trying to offer 3.65% APR. This is overrall a good rate (offered from Lexus), doubt you will find much better, Lexus won't be giving out any 0% or 1.9% financing.
  • gardencargardencar Member Posts: 293
You should be able to get it for at least $1100 over invoice. I have seen postings for '05 RX's for as little as $500 over invoice.

In 2003, I purchased my '04 RX330 in Northern Cal for $1100 over invoice when it was still a new model. It had an MSRP of $41,688, and I got it for $37,500 before TTL. The car was the same package as post #1654, minus the navigation.

    briegel,

Let us know what you find out about RX330 pricing in the Seattle area. Historically, Lexus of Bellevue hasn't been cooperative in discounting cars significally (Lexus of Fife is owned by LOB so don't exzpect much better deals there either). I had to buy my RX300 from Longo Lexus of CA 6 years ago since I got there a very good deal ($36000 fully loaded) + paid $450 for car shipping right to my home. Negotiaited everything over the phone and sent papers by mail.

BTW, where does the luxury tax threshold is set this and next year?
  • paigoopaigoo Member Posts: 7
    Briegel,

Same here. I found 3 Lexus dealers in Seattle area. Lexus of Bellevue should be very hard to netgotiate the price. Please let us know what you found.
Do you think the dealers in Portland might have a better price?
  • briegelbriegel Member Posts: 139
I believe the dealer in Portland is under the same ownership as Lexus of Seattle. I may be visiting the internet sales guy at Lexus of Seattle tomorrow...he assured me I will be pleased with the numbers, but says they cannot give out prices over the phone or email during this promotion. He has been very straight with me in previous dealings. Lexus of Bellevue, where I got my 2002 RX at $500 over invoice, has said that $40-41k ($42,458 MSRP, $37,193 invoice)is the best pricing they can do.
  • paigoopaigoo Member Posts: 7
    Briegel,

Thanks for your prompt response. :)
That would save me a trip there and lots of hassle.
So the best Lexus of Bellevue can do is $3-4k over invoice?
Let us know how pleased you are with the numbers. :)
I am thinking to get the DVD Entertainment system too. It got the AV input at the back with 110V power supply too. You can hook up your PS2 and play games in the car.
  • briegelbriegel Member Posts: 139
Well...it looks like around $40k is about all Lexus of Seattle is willing to do also without physically going in to the Dealership and making an offer. They apparently won't take offers over the phone or by email. It didn't sound too encouraging for an offer of $39k or less.

Bought my RX330 few months ago from Tri County Lexus located in NJ. Have experienced one of the worst customer service ever in USA. All people from Sales to accounting were very nice till I signed my paperwork. Unfortunately I did not notice that they had not supplied some of the accessories, upon calling them they were not willing to accept their mistake. Sales person or anyone would not reply to your call.

Highly discourage anyone to go for TriCounty Lexus, I would say go at your own risk !!!

We picked up our '05 Millennium Silver RX330 with Black Interior. Nav Car in Illinois. Had a great sales experience, and got a great deal with Lexus of Highland Park. Would recommend our sales person and dealer to anyone. please e-mail me for details.

    jasons,

Did you talk to Prestige in Ramsey? I live three miles from TriCounty and I never gave them a thought. In case you were unaware, they changed their name from Bob Ciasulli Lexus - and it was one of several in their family of dealerships that were fined by consumer affairs for ripping off customers.

Bought an '04 from Prestige in March and have had nothing but a positive experience, including the service and post-sale aspects. They even matched the best price I got - which at the time was about $800 over invoice.

    Hi,
I'm now looking for a used RX 330 in CA. Hopefully, No. CA. Where did you get yours? How do I find out the invoice price? What is the fair price to offer under the MSRP? Thanks for any advice.
Also, where has anyone found the lowest rates - a loan company or through the dealer? I have found a 4.25 so far.

I found Lexus of Bellevue to be more of a hassel than any other car buying experience. I went through Lexus of Glendale via fleetcars. I got great service. I wanted Bambo with Ivory interior with everything including nav. The manufactior price was 44.808 and my price was 41.000 plus 600.00 for shipping to my front door. The internet rep was very thorough emailing complete lists including photos.
  • briegelbriegel Member Posts: 139
sallyo1---I'm curious as to whether you leased the RX you got via fleetcars and if so, how that worked out for you. Also, it was fleetcars and not www.fleetrates.com? Thanks!

I am ready to buy RX330 and have been looking around for the best price. This forum has been very helpful.

Can anyone let me know if I end up purchasing from an out of town dealership, would I be entitled to loaner cars etc. when I go to the local dealership for service.
  • paigoopaigoo Member Posts: 7
Yeah, I guess ~40k is not bad.
    If it includes
    - VN Nav package
    - DC Radio Equip
    - HH Heated seats, Headlamp washer & rain-sensing Wiper
    - FT 18" wheel

They added up to almost 40,000.

I think Bellevue of Lexus will be the best dealer to get good deal. I saw they have December promotion on their website.

    I think 40-41k isn't too bad.

Tricounty Lexus was named Bob Ciassulli before they changed their name. They are rated poorly by the Better Business Bureau of NJ and was sued by the NJ state in 2001 for fraudulent activities to cheat consumers. Read the link below. It is obvious why they want a new name.

    http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/press/ciasulli.htm

I almost made my purchase there and am glad that I did my research before taking the bait.

will you please post the MSRP and the selling price? thanks
  • dogsambamdogsambam Member Posts: 76
The car sticker was $45258, we paid $40,500. If you have any other questions, feel free to e-mail me.
  • briegelbriegel Member Posts: 139
Where did you get this deal?
  • jasonsjasons Member Posts: 5
    Thanks for your reply.

It seems changing the name does not change the culture of the company...

As I have already purchased my vehicle few months back, I can not revert it. I am happy as I believe I got good price for the vehicel. However, I am very disappointed with their service. I wonder why does Lexus even bother to sell car from people like Tricounty Lexus? It not only hurts consumer but over the long term it would affect Customer Service message of Lexus too !!!

Sticker was $42,500. Purchase price was $39500. Got a trailer hitch installed at no cost. Dealer: Sheehy Lexus, Annapolis, MD. Good buying experience.

Has anyone had an experience with this dealer in WNY. The next closest competition is approximately 40 and 120 miles away .... How are they on discounts from MSRP and service
  • fallmanfallman Member Posts: 9
Few years ago, when I was shopping for a vehicle, they were very arrogant about their pricing. Just smiled at me when I asked for a discount off the MSRP. Claimed that if I want discount, should buy a different make. However, I was not prepared at the time. I plan to talk to them within next few days. I will let you know how it goes..... I am prepared and have several offers from dealers around us.

Their service is pretty good. Few of my friends have had that experience.

I heard from more than one dealer that Mark Levinson sound systems are not available in NY and maybe the NE? Why is this?
  • enzo77enzo77 Member Posts: 3
Thanks to this forum and to Edmunds.com. I successfully negotiated a below invoice price (less $145) for my 2005 RX 330 AWD.
Premium Plus Package with Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) with High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps, Roof rails/roof rack. Also includes: Leather-trimmed interior, Power tilt-and-telescopic steering column with memory, Illuminated entry system and Power tilt-and-slide moonroof with one-touch open/close and sliding sunshade.
    Additional Options:
    - Lexus voice-activated DVD Navigation System with backup camera
    - Two-level heated front seats (includes rain-sensing variable intermittent wipers and headlamp washers)
    - 18-in alloy wheels (235/55VR18 and full-size spare)
    - Towing prep package
    - In-dash, single feed, six-disc CD auto-changer
    - Wheel locks
    - Cargo mat
    MSRP 44,833
    Invoice 39,663
    Total Selling cost 39,518
Awesome deal!!! Very friendly, courteous, and straightforward Internet Sales Manager. First quote, he gave me all the breakdown cost. Other dealerships gave me their general/vague quotes and "call me" attitude. This dealer is highly recommended. I learned that the biggest chunk of their total sales is made through the Internet.

    Enzo77,

What is the name of the dealership? Did you get this superb quote over the phone/email?
  • andrewfomandrewfom Member Posts: 8
    Sallyo1,

Thanks for the tip! What is your RX's spec?
What was the invoice price for it?
Did you negotiate everything over the phone?

The Wall Street Journal said in an article today that Lexus is offering discounted financing or dealer cash in December even on RX330's. Anyone heard of this from the dealerships?
  • lee_wlee_w Member Posts: 239
Please do not use this forum to exchange emails. Emails are available in member profiles. Is it really necessary to have the internet manager's name? How many internet managers would there be? You are allowed to give the dealership name and location.
  • fallmanfallman Member Posts: 9
I know that dealers are offering 3.65% financing during December.

    MSRP - $41,083

    Invoice (according to msn.autos) - $35,979

    Thanks in advance

    Congrats Enzo!

I have been lurking here for about a month and have learned a great deal. It's been 7 years since I purchased my last car so I am grateful to find such wonderful info here!

A quick question for you. I am interested in the same base/option package that you have purchased. I tallied up a 39,198 invoice price and was wondering if the difference was the advertising charge for your area.

Hello, Folks. I bought an 05 FWD RX 330 with the Premium Plus Package, 18-inch wheels, and Navigation through Lexus of Riverside's Internet for $41,000 out-the-door. I feel this is a great price. The purchase experience was pleasant and the service excellent.

Portland resident facing the prospect of buying an RX330 with two dealers in the entire state and what sounds like the same monopoly setup in the Seattle area...

Willing to go to California to purchase and save a couple grand, but not sure if any additional fees/taxes apply when buying a vehicle in california? We have no sales tax in Oregon, but not sure if California finds a way to get some extra $$ out of their northern (and wet) neighbors??

Anyone know from experience how this works with Calif?
