2002 chevy s10 crew cab 4x4, 4.3 put new fuel pump new fuel filter took catalytic converter off ,still bogs when throttled and dies. cannot even drive long enough to get any codes now. right now there are no codes, the reason i took the cat off is i did a back pressure test before the cat. and had over 10 psi at an idle, allowed psi is only 0 at an idle. am at wits end as around here to put on diagnostic machine is very expensive and i am retired on a fixed income. so any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks
Paul

If you have such high back pressure before the cat, then maybe the header pipe has collapsed, is clogged, rusted, etc? Back pressure at idle isn't really 0, more like 1.5 psi.

problem may be solved, on a 2002 s10 4.3 vortec there are two cats one is a mini doesn't even look like a cat. cut it off and the rpm came back no bog
