Odometer Malfunction

I bought a new Rogue with 301 miles on it, because the car with the configuration I wanted had to be driven from a dealership out of state. The other day, six weeks later, I checked the current mileage to respond to a survey. The odometer now read only 283. My trip odometers, which I had reset when I got the car, read 277, so total mileage should have read about 560, not 283. I wasn't mistakenly reading mileage to empty; that was 89.
I called the dealership's service department, and of course they had to see it to ensure I wasn't reading the wrong indicator.
They couldn't figure it out; just told me to monitor it.
Has anyone else experienced this?

yeah, I think monitoring it closely and keeping a record of how it behaves is the best course of action at this point. The dealer will have to replicate the problem before replacing anything, so the more evidence you have the easier it will be to get approval for a warranty repair.
