Moaning sound coming from all four wheels at idle in drive?!

Hi All,

I recently purchased a 2005 Chrysler town and country with 90K on it. We have noticed that when the car is in drive and at a stop (idle) there is a 'moaning' dull sound coming from all four wheel wells. This sound goes away at acceleration and also is NOT there when the car is in park. We think it may be an issue with the self-adjusting suspension but thought we would seek advice here for other possible causes of this noise. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

See if it goes away when you shift into neutral. Sounds like your brakes. Does the car have an usually high idle?

Yes, it goes away when we shift into neutral or park. It doesn't seem to idle high. The sounds comes and goes, it isn't a constant sounds, on and off moaning, which is why we think it may the self-adjusting suspension but not sure what could be wrong with that.
