I have a 2009 CTS- Gear shift and steering wheel shaking when applying the brake

I have a 2009 CTS lately my gear shift and steering wheel are shaking when I apply the brakes. You can visibly see the hand held gear shift shaking. We got new tires on it today hoping that the tires were the problem but it is still doing this. I see other people have had this problem too... Can anyone tell me what the issue was. I was at the dealership about 3 months ago because of the sunroof and a leak in the engine. This car is NOT what we thought it would be and I can say we won't be buying a Cadillac ever again.

    Probably warped brake rotors although other front end suspension parts are suspect as well. Safety related item, so immediate attention required!

    it has just started doing it while I am driving, not just applying the brakes. Would the rotors cause the shaking even then? It's worse when I brake though. My husband put new brakes on this past weekend but not rotors.
