I need to move the differential back 2" to allow the rear section of the rear drive shaft to fit
Can I take the 4 leaf spring bolts out in order to allow the space I need and then put them back after the drive shaft is bolted from the main support bearing to the differential?

What are you doing that you have the shaft out of the truck? The driveshaft should plunge far enough into the transmission that re-installing this should not be a problem.5

Can I see if it's balanced by putting it in rear wheel drive only while the wheels are off the ground? Will it center itself if I keep the differential slightly free while the wheels are turning?5
