Using air suspension for easy entry?

Hi. I am seriously considering a GL but find it difficult to get in and out since I am a bit short (5' 7"). I was wondering if the air suspension can be used to manually lower the SUV before I shut it off. I find the step helpful for getting in, but getting out involves making sure that my foot is securely on the step which is annoying. I am thinking of just skipping the running boards. Any thoughts or tips?

    Folding steps installed like in those small airplanes.

    I don't think the suspension will go any lower then it is when statically parked. You'll need a step of some kind.
