My tachometer takes off and races, mostly when on cruise control, going up an incline. Just had a tune up, plugs, coil, etc...problem has been ongoing and seems to be getting a bit worse....any thoughts or advice?
You may have automatic transmission slippage or clutch damage, depending. Going uphill in overdrive puts the biggest load on the drivetrain and would be the most likely scenario to induce transmission slip.
