Mr_Shiftright Member Posts: 64,481Hmmm....sounds like the wiring harness going into the door from the left side kick panel might be compromised. Maybe you could gingerly cut the sheath protecting the harness as it enters the door and see if wires have been broken or frayed by the constant motion of the door opening and closing. If you have patience and a soldering gun, you might be able to repair it in place.5

Answers
First, the door panel needs to be removed to properly test the circuits involved. From there if a broken wire is confirmed, the right way to fix this is to then remove the kick panel and unplug the door harness from the chassis main harness and bring it out of the door so that it is easy to access both ends of each wire. Replace about one foot of each wire so that you end up with new wires in the pivoting area of the harness. It's easier to do this right the first time than it is to revisit it any number of times and it makes for a cleaner repair instead of cutting the bellows.
