Grinding noise

2000 jeep grand cherokee is making grinding noise when the gas pedal is depressed. Sounds like its coming from the front. Any ideas

    Forgot to say that it stops when coasting. Or siting stillin neutral U can reve the engine and no noise. Just got done pulling the engine and tranny the day before. Put other ones in as a whole unit assembled.  Already checked the gear lube it was full.

    I dunno, without being able to hear it. You aren't in 4WD when this happens are you? Sounds like a bearing noise of some sort. Is this an automatic?
