$699 plus $50 for installation. I don't know if the difference in price is because of the model or the local dealer doing a little gouging.
From the looks of the small model they had in the showroom at the local dealer it
did not look difficult to remove. I did not get the weight of the unit so I am not sure if one person can do it by himself.
The web site, www.foldacover.com states that some of the utilitrac has to be removed to
install it on the Titan. The local dealer called Foldacover and he was told that it would fit on the 2005 Frontier leaving the utili-trac in position. Redesign of the unit may account
for the difference in price.
When mine comes in and is installed I'll post the results here on the forum.
Thank you for your interest.

on irregular surfaces. If the radii are too sharp the film tends to release after a per-
iod of time. There are also some that complained of the film yellowing over time.
I had mine on my BRG Miata for almost 4 years and I never noticed the yellowing although that would probably be more apparent on the white than on the dark green on my Miata.
Thank you for you information and if I can find a local installer that will guarantee me
a good job I would definitely be interested in doing this.

I have a factory order in for a LE CC 4x2. Anxiously awaiting, in the meantime, can anyone relay what functions are on the multi-function trip computer?
Also, do the rear windows go all the way down on a cre cab?
thanks for any info.!
Yes, the rear passenger windows will open all the way down.
interference problems with the utili-trac system. They were not sure of the weight of the unit for the Frontier, but it would be between 49 and 53 pounds. From the pictures
on their web site the unit should release just by opening the latches at both ends and folding it up.

Where'd you see $499 for foldacover? Best I've found on Advance Cover is at carmicdirect.com, $515 + $39 shipping. It's not listed on the site because it's new, but they can get 'em.
I am going through a local dealer, Malibu's in Moore, OK. I don't think that Foldacover
will sell direct to the public. When I called them they gave me a list of the dealers in my area.
Gerald
what truck you own. The Foldacover unit has 4 folds and the Peragon unit appears to have 6 folds.
I'll have to go to the Advance cover site to see what it looks like.

available for the '05 Frontier? I painted my mirrors and front bumper on my '05LE KC
to match the white on my truck, but I was advised not to paint the door handles by the paint shop.
The dealer I purchased the truck from had these items painted for me and also said
they would let me have the chrome door handles at their cost when they became a-
vailable.
I was given a 2003 Frontier KC as a loaner while they were painting the pieces on
my truck. The black door handles had already started to discolor. The same is true
of the 2000 Frontier I just sold. I kept the 2000 under a carport and used a plastic
protectant on the handles, but they faded anyway.

I pretty much considered all of these 18 months ago when I bought a 2003 Sonoma. Wound up with an advance cover for a few reasons and have been pretty happy. Advance and folda both basically sit on top of the truck box. Folda has an L-shaped side rail that mounts above the bed side and then the cover sits on and between these side rails. Advance uses a plastic molding and a rubber seal that the cover sits on. They're both the same material, a sandwich of black painted aluminum crinkle stuff with foam filling and painted metal frames held together with rubber covered piano hinges. If you look at pictures of both, you'll see that they both have lock hardware that sticks down underneath. Advance has levers and key lock cylinders so if you don't lock it you can just open with the lever. Both close automatically with "slam latch".
I've liked my advance pretty well, much better than my previous truck's Access Cover rollup, but would mention about a few things which might well apply to folda too. It's plenty secure for me, on the Sonoma it also locks the tailgate. Pretty good waterproofing but after a good downpour there's usually some water in the corner. I wouldn't drive around in monsoon season with a load of fine furniture without some plastic wrap. Mine was installed over bed caps and a York LoadLoc bedliner. I have had a bit of trouble with the plastic molding shifting on top of the bed caps. If I do this again I may follow their installation tip for SportTracks, which is to get some flat head screws of just the right length and use them to screw the molding to the bed caps in 3 or 4 places. Same for the 1/4 round rubber piece at the back corners.
I think 60 lbs is way more than the cover weighs when you remove it. Mine feels just a bit heavier than the tailgate. Remember, tho, that it's a bit unwieldy with the latch hardware sticking out on both sides. If you're going to remove it and haul it around in the cab, I'd wrap it in a heavy blanket at least.
Have never seen a Peragon in person. From the photos, it looks like it sits on rails that clamp alongside of the box top so it's flush with the box. Looks nice that way but will most likely be a bit less waterproof and allow less cargo height. All the same, if they make one for Frontier that'll fit above the Utilitrack, I'd look pretty hard at it because it does seem a bit more durable and possibly easier to remove.
Another choice could have been the Undercover or STK ProCover, both molded plastic liftup hard tonneaus that would be around 50lb. Too bad they don't make 'em for Frontier.
Good post, I will be sure to tell my installer of the Foldacover I have on order to be
sure that it does not move around. The installer has not told me how they will secure the Foldacover, but I hope there are no issues with the unit once it is installed.
I'll post results when it has come in and been installed.

I have the same rattle at 2200 rpm, particularly when the engine is cold. I have not yet been in for my first service, but I plan on having them look at it at that time. The invoice date on my 05 LE CC was mid January, so it's not clear to me if the build date was before the cut off when the problem was supposedly fixed. I did mention it to the dealer before I took delivery, and was told by the dealer that everything was fine. It's clear that it is not fine, but it's actually a fairly minor annoyance at this stage.
thoe Nissan has been good to me but this truck has some bugs to work out,its better then the Toy I must say,now they have more prob's then us.
Any help would be appreciated.
Courtesy auto parts is the only site that I've seen to offer the hard tonneau cover. It sounds like it might take some work to get that cover delivered. It's a little pricey also, but if it is of good quality and fit I'll pay for it. I don't want junk.
I think that type of cover would blend in well with the roof rack.
Would also be willing to drive to a dealer that was close to Northwest Ohio and check one out.
All have pluses and minuses. I am going with a folding cover. Prabably fold-a-cover. I like the retractable ones, but does use up a some space in the front of the bed (and the bed is fairly small anyway in the CC). These appear to be pretty easy to put on, take off. Not too heavy. Not water tight, but will keep most of the elements off you things. I have seen some pictures of a couple of soft tops installed and they look nice. The dealer had some hard covers which I really like. I personally don't like the painted fiberglass ones, too monochromatic for me. Good luck
Thanks for your reply.
You can view the Foldacover bed cover at www.Foldacover.com. They are a little pricey, but that is the one I decided on. I chose it because it is fairly water resist-
ant, you can lock it thus securing your utili-trac system, and it is light enough that
I can remove it whenever I haul something to large to fit otherwise.
I was going to get an American Roll Top as it is a little more water resistant, but it
would not work with the utili-trac system in place. It was also $200 dollars higher
in cost.
My Foldacover should be in next week or the first part of the week after. The '05
version is just now being released and is a little back logged right now.
I'll post my feelings on it once I get it installed.
Gerald
On the driver's side door jam is a sticker with info on it. That sticker has the build date of your Fronty on it.
vuch
my Foldacover is in. I'll call in the morning and see if they can install it tomorrow. Will
let you know how it turns out.

Don't know if this is normal for this trans, as I know that it is designed to automatically downshift when going down hills.
Any input or info. on this??
Great engine, tight body, good looks, and basically a sporty little truck. I even like the dash a lot, which some testers have ran down as plasticky. Have they looked at the Canyon or Colorado (heh, heh) ?
I do have a few concerns though, those being :
1. Steering......fairly heavy, but very sensitive, and it will wander unsettlingly at highway speeds. The dealer has checked alignment, made an adjustment, but to no avail. I'm wondering if this may be a fault of the factory "General Grabber AW" tires ? I've also experimented with tire pressures from 35 to 40 pounds, with no improvement. I'd really appreciate any suggestions that might help.
2. Paint.......my truck is silver, and I am anal about protecting it, but the clearcoat seems to scuff/scratch from the slightest touch (i.e. having a soft rubber garden hose run along the box edge when washing down the bed).
Also, I never drive on anything but paved roads, and the paint in front of the lower rear fenders is already chipping badly. Nissan made a grave error by not installing a large enough clear protective cover in that area.
3. Heater........only the owners in northern cold winter climates may notice this, but there is an ice-cold draft that comes up and out from under the steering column onto your legs when driving on the highway in winter. My wife does not like this at all. It appears Nissan has a seal in the firewall with a design that funnels outside cold air up the steering column. Hopefully Nissan will have a cure for this before next winter.
So if you have updates, please post them. Also, please include your trucks configuration: 4x2/4x4, KC/CC, etc.
Thanks much!
Just updated my numbers this morning.
In 4434 miles of mixed driving, I have averaged 18.38 MPG.
Best Tank Milage was 20.23 MPG (All low speed highway, 65 MPH max)
Worst Tank Milage was 16.55 MPG (All in town driving)
Most tanks, mixed driving, are running between 18 and 19.
BTW, you don't have to use premium; just regular gas works just fine.
Keep'em coming folks. I'd like to see how they compare.
Gas mileage was number one factor that I backed away from the deal. But, there were other factors in my case.
By the way, for anyone considering purchase in northern DE, southeastern PA, northeastern MD, I can highly recommend a dealer to you who was more than fair to me in the whole process and was selling at Edmunds invoice price.
I still kind of wish I had that Frontier ;-)
fit of it and the look of it. The only complaint I have is that it is a little hard to fold it up
completely from the ground. The back section is easy enough, but to fold the three on top of the front section is a little difficult for me.
That may well be because I am only 5' 7 1/2" tall, weight 130 pounds, and I am 67
years old. I think in my younger years I could have handled it, but I have lost too
much weigh in the past year and I am not as strong as I once was.
Growing old is heck, but it is better than being dead, you just have to adjust to it.
