with parts and labor what should it cost to replace the rubber gasket that is around the moonroof? Mine tore and I was able to close it and water is not leaking. If I were to replace it, what should it cost?

I don't have an Avalon in front of me, but on many Japanese cars you raise the roof to the tilt position, and remove the screws holding the glass, pull that out (and possibly a trim piece or two), and then slide in the new gasket---if you can find the part. It's probably about $40-$50, might be a dealer only item---but shop around on google.

If you pay someone to do this, figure at least one hour in the best possible case. If your car requires the entire roof assembly to be lifted out, that's going to take some time.
