Hesitation/Stuttering While Driving Between 40-50 MPH

I purchased my Torrent October 2014 and it had approx. 94,000. I noticed that during acceleration onto the freeway or on inclines, the vehicle would start to hestitate or stutter as I referred to it. I could take my foot off the accelerator and then reapply and my vehicle would work fine then. It never stalled and otherwise drove great. I tried replacing the MAF and MAP sensors first. Then on the advice of a friend and car enthusiast, I had the transmission serviced at my next oil change. This along with using 87 octane or higher gas solved the issue entirely.

It's often difficult to discern the difference between an ignition misfire and a torque converter malfunction. This requires closer diagnosis. A good scan tool might reveal something but it may require that the car be hooked up to diagnostics while the actual event is occurring, so that data from various sensors and modules can be captured in real time and analyzed by a skilled mechanic.
